PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Hi to all members,
I hope you are all enjoying good health, if not, then, I wish you
a speedy recovery.
The lesson night numbers have been going well. My thanks goes
to those members who have been encouraging others to come
along.

The Rosewood show demo went off very well, again well organised by Narelle. But as Narelle quite rightly pointed out, it’s those
members who turned up and danced to promote our club that we need to thank,
thanks to you all.
Cooly Rocks came and went with Just Rock members clearly seen out and about by
wearing club shirts and jackets. Many Ipswich people spoke to us when they saw
our shirts with Ipswich on the back. Hopefully they will come along for some
dance lessons and car events.
Our Monday night social dance went very well and I must say Johnny Gray played
the right music very well.
Next three Lesson nights are as follows: 29th June, 6th July and 13th July. The
next Monday night Social is on the 20th July. The entertainment will be our very
own Peter Wisman. Peter has been entertaining at various locations of late,
including down at Cooly Rocks. Please come along and support Peter as well as
your club. I know you will enjoy the night.
The Just Rock Back 2 63 car show and shine planning is well underway. Ian and
Tracey are hard at work getting all things organised. They will need help on the
16th August as well as the lead up to the day. Please help them and your club by
making some time available to assist in this event. The Mayor Paul Pissale has
confirmed his attendance for the day and will accompany Elvis and Marilyn in the
Blue Mustang convertible for a lap of meet and greet at midday. Mickey Mercury
will provide the entertainment and then Elvis will sing a few songs.
Saturday morning the 5th September will be the start of a busy day with Rosewood
Rocks in the morning. We need some cars and a lot of dancers for this. Please let
Narelle know if you are available. Then Saturday night we have our club dance
with the entertainment being provided by the band Old 45. Your committee has decided to book this popular band and we need all members to attend so that we can
cover costs, as well as enjoy each others company. We would love to see both the
current and old members turn up for this one.
The next car cruise will be Sunday 19th July, Luke and Narelle have planned a day
in the country so come along and enjoy the day. A run sheet will be at the door
and remember you do not need a classic car to attend.
That will do for now, but keep in mind your club is in good shape because a lot of
members put a lot of time and energy into the dance and car events and all we ask
is for you to turn up and support your fellow members’ efforts.

“DANCE WITH NANCE”
Hello Dancers
Well Cooly Rocks has been and gone for another year. I hope you had as
much fun as we did catching up with old and new friends and enjoying
the variety of dance and music that was available.

Our June social featured Johnny Gray. Johnny is always enthusiastic and
had the dancers on the floor all night.
On the 20th July we have our very own ELVIS, JOHNY CASH, etc, etc,….Peter Wisman.
I am sure you will find this an entertaining and enjoyable night. Please some along and
support your club.
About 20 of our members, some with their classic cars, headed out to the Rosewood Show on
Saturday afternoon. Luke and Narelle had everything under control as usual for the dancers
to enjoy performing at the demo. There were a variety of people in the audience so this was a
good opportunity to promote our club while we enjoyed ourselves.
We have had a full month of dancing and commend the efforts of our teachers. A special
thanks to Shirley and Robert Moore for their guest appearance.
Once again we appreciate the people at the door each week making new and old dancers
feel welcome
