QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY
Players must be registered with an SJRU affiliated club to be eligible for selection at District
level of higher.
To be qualified to play in the various tournaments there is a games played criteria (of SJRU
competition) that each player must meet, unless otherwise given dispensation from the ruling
body.
•
NSWJRU State Championships (U11’s to U17’s)
o Players must have played / signed on for a minimum of FOUR separate
competition rounds prior to the State Championships weekend. (ie rounds 1 to
7).
•
NSWJRU U10’s Representative Gala Day
o Players must have played / signed on for a minimum of FOUR separate
competition rounds prior to the State Championships weekend. (ie rounds 1 to
9).
•
SJRU Regional Tournament (U14’s to U16’s)
o Players must have played / signed on for a minimum of ONE competition round
between the State Championships weekend and the Regionals. (ie rounds 8 or
9).
o Players must have been selected and available for the schedule dates.
•
Sydney vs Country (U14’s to U16’s)
o Players must have played / signed on for a minimum of TWO competition round
between the State Championships weekend and the Sydney vs Country game. (ie
rounds 8 to 11).
o Players must have been selected and available for the schedule dates
•
Sydney vs Country (U17’s to U18’s)
o Players must have played / signed on for a minimum of ONE competition round
between the State Championships weekend and the Sydney vs Country game. (ie
rounds 8 to 9).
o Players must have been selected and available for the schedule dates

NSW Invitational (U16’s)
o Players must have played / signed on for a minimum of THREE competition
round between the State Championships weekend and the NSW Invitational. (ie
rounds 8 to 14).

tournament, where the players will be showcased in front of the Sydney selectors. Following
this tournament the selectors will pick a 23 man Sydney Team.
Sydney vs Country
The Sydney team will contest the annual Sydney vs Country at TG Milner on August 2nd. At this
game the selectors will choose a NSW team.
NSWJRU Representative Team
The NSW U15 team will play at the NSW U16 Invitational against teams from Sydney, NSW
Country and NSW Schools. Plus possibly ACT and Victoria.

will play their 2nd XV. They may also play NSW Country again in a 3-way on this date.
Waratahs talents scouts have confirmed they will attend all these fixtures, with an eye towards

PLAYER LEVIES / COSTS
Zone Teams (U15 & U16)
Each player selected in a Zone team will have a player contribution levy which will cover the
cost of the gear that they are given (Playing Jersey, shorts, socks, training jersey, SJRU Hoodie).
The Barbarians will have a slightly lower cost as they will play in their district shorts and socks.

Sydney Teams (U14. U17, U18)
Each player selected in a Sydney team will have a player contribution levy which will cover the
cost of the gear that they are given (Playing Jersey, shorts, socks, training jersey, SJRU Polo &
Hoodie).

Sydney Teams (U15, U16)
Each player selected in a Sydney team (U15 and U16) will have a player contribution levy which
will cover the cost of the gear that they are given (Playing Jersey, shorts, socks, SJRU Polo). They
will already have received the Hoodie and training top at the regionals.
