Kalkan No 8 Kas, Antalya. 07960 Welcome to Kalkan and the Townhouse, Alarahan. To help you enjoy your stay, we have prepared the following information. Please print these notes as a handy reference. Our local management team for the house are Sharon and Ramazan Uslu. They will be available throughout your stay to help and assist with your holiday needs and queries that you may have. Contact telephone numbers below. Directions 1. On leaving Dalaman airport, continue on the D555 towards D400 –When you see a Suzuki Garage on the right, TURN RIGHT - approx 10km 2. Continue down this road (it is quite uneven) until you reach the junction, TURN RIGHT onto the D400 – approx 0.5km 3. You will pass through the Gocek Tunnel, you will need 3.5 YTL - please make sure you have change! – approx 10km 4. After the tunnel, continue straight on following the signs to Fethiye, you will pass through 8 roundabouts, prepare to turn at the major intersection where the D400 bears right and Antalya straight on TURN RIGHT - approx 53km Watch Out For Police Radar Speed Traps – Keep to under 100kph 5. Follow the signs for KAŞ still continuing on the D400 on this section of your journey you’ll pass the town of Kinik and travel through Ova Koy in an area predominantly given to agriculture and marked by its large number of greenhouses. Shortly after this you will pass a sign for Patara beach on your right hand side - approx 50km At this point we would appreciate, if you could text or call the property managers to let them know of your impending arrival. +90 537 369 26 42 6. After about 6kms you will start to drop down into Kalkan itself where you will come to a roundabout with traffic lights and a petrol station. Continue straight on for approx. 1km. At the bottom of the hill turn right into Sehitler Cad., followed by a sharp turn left and then first right, at this point when you have regained your breath from the spectacular view take the first turn right into 6 Yaliboyu Sokak. Graham’s contact details are above and you may have made your Townhouse booking directly with him already. Brave Tours will be your transfer taxi company. You can pay for your return transfer to their local taxi office during your holiday. Key Collection Sharon or Ramazan will be aware of your arrival time and meet you at the villa if you are arriving during the day. They will have a key for you. Give them a call when you leave Dalaman airport, numbers below, and they will meet you at the villa when you arrive. Alternatively the keys will be left in the key safe next to the front door and you will be informed of the key safe code before your arrival. If you are arriving late or very early in the morning, the keys will be left in the key safe beside the front door. You will be advised of the code prior to arrival. Pool & Outside Areas Ramazan will call early each morning to check the pool levels and administer any necessary maintenance and chemicals to keep the water clean and clear. He will also sweep & hose down the pool area and water the plants. There are some plants on the roof terrace and we would appreciate if you would give them a drink of water when you are up there. No glassware or crockery immediately besides or in the pool please. Any breakages would mean the pool would have to be drained and refilled. There are lots of plastic glasses in the kitchen for use around the pool. Please be aware that the street cats of Kalkan like a comfy bed so if you can try to remove the sun lounger mattresses & seat cushions when not in use that will stop them sitting on them. Close the umbrellas and replace the umbrella covers when unattended to avoid damage from the wind that can pick up at short notice at any time. Pool Towels Pool towels will be provided for your stay and if you are staying more than 1 week, they will be changed along with the linens. Outside Lights The outside lights are operated from the middle set of switches inside by the front door. The lights will give you guidance on the street when coming home in the dark, but please switch them off when not being used. The pool has underwater lights which can be operated from a switch located on the wall at the far end of the pool; again please switch off when not in use. Roof Terrace If you are visiting April, May, September and October, please be aware there is always a chance of some rain. During these months please keep an eye out for the weather and if rain may be due please bring indoors all soft furnishings. Also note that winds can come very quickly; do not leave any umbrella raised when unattended. All equipment is your responsibility during your occupation and breakages and damage charges will apply. Smoking The Property is Strictly Non Smoking. There are ashtrays in the kitchen cupboard if you wish to smoke outside or on the roof terrace. Please do not leave the air-conditioning on when you are not in the room and always switch off all units when you leave the premises. This just wastes natural resources. It only takes a few minutes for the air-conditioning units to bring the room temperature down. For optimal performance set the temperature controls between 20-23 degrees, this is the same temperature that you would normally have your thermostat set in the UK. Coming from a hot outside temperature into a room that is too cold can also be damaging to your health. Linen Changes/Maid Service The house will be cleaned with fresh linen for your arrival. If you are staying for two weeks, a linen change and maid service will be arranged for your second week. If you require further linen changes or light cleaning, please request this from Sharon, who will arrange a service for a small charge which is payable locally. Water Water is supplied for you with our compliments. There is a water cooler in the kitchen that takes large bottles of water. There will be one bottle when you arrive and a spare bottle. Please replenish these as you use them to ensure that there is always a bottle on the cooler and another on hand. When you have empty water please leave by the front door and Ramazan will arrange for a new bottle to be delivered for you. Do not dispose of the bottles, they are recycled and carry a deposit charge. To change the water bottle – Do not remove the plastic cap, instead carefully use a sharp knife and put a small cross through the plastic, invert the bottle and place into the cooler opening, the incision will help the bottle to seat properly. Dishwasher/Washing Machine As this is a self catering holiday, a dishwasher and washing machine are available for your use. Please replenish the detergents that you use. Washing machine operation is best using programme “M” at 30 degrees, the machine has a ½ load button for smaller washes. There is a clothes drying rack as well as iron and ironing board located in the utility room on the roof terrace. Paper in the toilets As with many Turkish properties, the house has small bore pipes. Please do not put anything other than toilet paper down the toilet, use the bins provided. You will need to replenish the toilet rolls used. Refuse Communal refuse bins are located at the end of the street. Please dispose of your bags of rubbish into the bins and the Belediyesi (council) will empty them daily. Don’t leave full bags of rubbish by the gate of the property. Street Animals Please do not encourage the street animals into the property. If you would like to help the local street animals, you will find donation boxes in many local shops around the town. Press the AV button on the black Phillips remote, highlight HDMI 1 and press the ‘OK’ button to select, then the channels will show up on the TV. You now only need to use the red remote to control what you want to watch. Please read the paper instructions on the top of the safe this explains how to change the code to your own personal pin number you can use for the duration of your stay. Ramazan has an override key in case of emergency. Please keep the paper instructions on the safe for other holiday makers to find easily and leave the safe open when you vacate.
