Ambassador of Ethiopia to Sweden and Nordic Countries, Ambassador Woinshet
Tadesse, presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Finland, Mr. Sauli
Niinistö, on Thursday (November 13, 2014). Since then she is working to strengthen
the bilateral relations between Finland and Ethiopia, especially with regards to fostering
business developments in order to increase the economic growth of the country.
Mr. Tamas Nador
Chairman for Finnish-African Trade Association & CEO - Occasio Oy
Tamas Nador moved to South Africa in 1998 and has been involved in numerous
technology and skills transfers projects from Finland to Africa. Currently Nador heads a
private consulting group focused on business development in Africa and has served as the
Vice Chairman of Fata since 2010 and Chairman since 2015.
Mr. Mikko Kuuskoski
Associate Director - Infrastructure FINNFUND Ltd
Mr. Mikko Kuuskoski is as an Associate Director of Infrastructure at Finnish Fund for
Industrial Cooperation Ltd (Finnfund). He has served as a Senior Investment Manager at
the Finnfund and has over a decade’s experience from international corporate and
project finance with Citigroup in Finland, the United Kingdom and Sweden as well as
Nordea in Finland. He has extensive experience on working with non-investment grade
borrowers both in emerging markets and developed countries. He serves as a Director of
MBH B.V. Mr. Kuuskoski also serves as a Director in a number of investee companies.
Mr. Klaus Huhtala
Area Export Manager Plameca Oy
Mr Huhtala is representing Planmeca Group, Finnish Dental Technology Company with
over meur 740 annual turnover. Mr Huhtala is responsible for Planmeca's sales expansion
in Africa. Plamenca has been creating extensive network of dealers already to the African
continent for quite some time, including Ethiopia
Mr Michael Mekonnen
Managing Director –Menkem International Company Ethiopia
Mr Mekonnen is the managing director of Menkem International, a company based in the
capital Addis Ababa and established in 2007. Menkem currently has 29 employees and
it is worth approximately 1 million euro. The company’s main products include importing
machineries, automobiles and spare parts, which are sourced from Korea, Middle East
and Europe. It also exports agricultural products to Asian markets.
Ms. Gizeshwork Tessema
Managing Director CEO – Gize Logistic and Shipping Company Ethiopia
Ms. Gizeshwork Tessema, is one of the most prominent business women in Ethiopia. Her
company Gize Logistics and Shipping Company is one of the main players in the country
in the area of maritime transport and fright. Gize enterprise currently employs some 150
people. Ms. Gizeshwork is the only female board member of the Freight Forwarder's
association in Ethiopia and is also UN Compact focal point in Ethiopia.
Dr. Tigist Chernet
Senior research scientist - Geological Survey of Finland (GTK)
Dr. Tegist Chernet is a senior research scientist with expertise in applied and process
mineralogy, industrial and heavy minerals processing. She has been active in business
oriented research and development activities including international networking. With
extensive experience of institutional capacity building and cooperation with the Ethiopian
mining and agricultural sectors, Dr Chernet is currently a project manager for the project
called: “Improving the Food security of Ethiopia: Assessment of Soil Amendment Rock
Resources and Balanced Application of Fertilizer and Soil Conditioners”, financed by the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
Mr Henrik Puustinen
Owner of Sini Furnitures Plc - Ethiopia
Mr Puustinen is the founder owner of Sini Furnitures in Ethiopia, one of the first capital
investments from Finland to Ethiopia. Sini Furnitures combines Nordic design with technology from Finland. All furniture are completely produced by Ethiopians trained by experts
from Finland. The company has created jobs for 70 Ethiopians and is expected to hire
more during business expansion into Africa.
