Infrastructure mandated with the operations of ferries in the Country. Our headquarters in Peleleza are
set along the expansive shores of the beautiful and splendid Indian Ocean overlooking the
magnificient view of Likoni channel.
It’s dynamism in managerial and maritime leadership has seen the company increase it’s efficency in
service delivery in ferrying over 300,000 pedestrians and over 5,000 vehicles daily. In order to actuate
its vision of being a ferry service of choice and to be an active player in realization of Vision 2030, we
are seeking mature, self driven, dynamic, experienced and suitably qualified professionals to join our
team in the following positions;
INTERNAL AUDIT SECTION
1. PRINCIPAL INTERNAL AUDITOR- Grade FM III- Ref :KFS/HR/REC 1(2015)-1 Post
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible to the Managing Director, this position involves developing and implementing
comprehensive program for independent, systematic and objective audit review as well as pragmatic
evaluation of business policies, systems, processes and practices.
The position is also responsible for continuously reviewing the effectiveness of internal controls and
degree of compliance to the Audit and Risk Management framework.
KEYS DUTIES
 Secretary to the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.
 Planning, organizing and controlling the internal audit program as well as providing guidance and
direction on the overall process.
 Reviewing and evaluating system and standard operating procedure, including, administrative
control and identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending on the same.
 Overseeing the overall implementation of risk management framework and internal controls as well
as governance process.
 Ensure compliance to Management’s policies and procedures.
 Ensure all audits and risk work and issues are effectively communicated to senior management.
 Highlighting to management areas of weakness in internal and accounting systems and suggest
ways of improvement.
 Managing the staff in Internal Audit and Risk Management function.
 Coordinating and reviewing external audit findings and recommendations
 Manage and control budget for the whole function.
 Investigate and reports payment made to individuals and other organizations.
 Any other duty as may be assigned by the Principal Operations Officer or any other person placed
in authority.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE










Must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Administration or
equivalent from a recognized university.
Master’s Degree in related field from a recognized university will be an added advantage.
Professional accounting qualifications CPA (K) or ACCA Final or equivalent.
CISA or CIA certificate is an added advantage.
Computer Literacy is a must for this position.
Must have five (5) years’ experience in a similar or comparable position.
Must be a member of good standing in a reputable professional body.
Must have practical knowledge and understanding of public sector financial management,
regulations and practices.
Must have experience or adequate knowledge in risk management and governance processes.
Experience in serving as secretary to the audit committee of the board will be an added advantage.

OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT
2. SENIOR OPERATIONS OFFICER - Grade FMIV- Ref : KFS/HR/REC 2 (2015)- 1 Post
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible to the Principal Operations Officer, this position requires an individual of strong
personality and ability to work long hours and under pressure.
KEY DUTIES







To offer strong logistic support on the availability of ferries to operations at any times in close
liaison with engineering and maintenance as per set operations schedule.
To coordinate systematic movement of the operating ferries to offer an efficient service at all times
of operation.
Constant monitoring of traffic flow on the motor lanes, ramp approaches, pedestrians waiting bays
and walkways in avoidance of traffic congestion.
Liaison with safety and security officers to ensure crowds are controlled in designated waiting
bays and inward and outward walkways.
Safeguard the berthing, mooring facilities and ramps from damage, and will also be in charge of
the berthing/mooring process of the ferry vessels.
In charge of health and safe environment of all ferries and ferry area of operations.
Inspect/assess the condition of all safety equipment’s on board vessels and ashore in close liaison
with the safety officer.

Duty allocation and direct supervision of staff working onboard vessels and ashore.
Ensure all traffic entries and any relevant information on the condition of the operating ferry
vessels is recorded in the traffic sheet and pre-sea checks are availed in the wheelhouse for the
purpose of daily and periodic reports.
Plan and conduct regular refresher sessions on basic seamanship skills for the staff.
Liaison with corporate affairs officer for the purpose of good Public Relation and Customer Care.
Any other duty as may be assigned by the Principal Operations Officer or any other person placed
in authority.
QUALIFICATONS AND EXPERIENCE





Must possess Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or related field in a recognized university.
Professional training in transport and logistics is desirable.
Must have worked for three (3) years in any Transport related organization and preferably Marine
Transport.
Basic training in marine related courses such as coxswain certificate of competency course and
sea-fearers certificate (STCW) courses will be an added advantage.
Basic training in first aid, fire fighting an emergency management will also be considered as added
advantage.

JOB SUMMARY
This position reports to the Senior Security Officer and requires an individual of strong personality and
ability to work long hours and under pressure.
KEY DUTIES








Inspection/threat assessment, investigation/evaluation and prosecution.
Prevent unauthorized entry of persons, cars and goods to restricted areas by carrying out security
checks.
Maintain records of acts of unlawful interference/crime.
Updating emergency procedures and contingency planning.
Liaison with safety officer to ensure there is harmony and consistency between security
requirements.
Offer strong security support to the operations at all times.
Prepare weekly reports of Ferry Vessels.
Any other duty as may be assigned by the Senior Security Officer or any other person placed in
authority.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE





Must possess Diploma in Criminology or Forensic Studies or Security Management or relevant
field from a recognized institution.
Professional Training in Counter Terrorism/criminology or investigation is desirable.
Must have worked with the Disciplined Service (that is the Kenya Defense Forces, the National
Police Service (Regular or Administration Police) or National Youth Service and attained the Rank
of an NCO for a minimum of three (3) Years.
Must possess certificate of good conduct.
Knowledge in First Aid, Fire Fighting and Emergency Management will be an added advantage.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible to the Senior Engineering Technician, this position requires an individual with good
engineering skills to ensure electrical machinery, equipment and installations are operational and well
maintained.
KEY DUTIES






Trouble-shoot ferries electrical systems-lighting, wiring and alarms.
Service and maintain electrical machines: motors, pumps, batteries, navigation and communication
equipment.
Pre-sea checks of vessels.
Ability to interpret electrical/electronic circuit diagrams.
Carry out electrical installations.
Any other duty as may be assigned by the Senior Engineering Technician or any other person

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE




Must possess a minimum of Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a reputable
institution.

JOB SUMMARY
This position reports to the Senior Engineering Technician and requires an individual with good
engineering skills to co-ordinate routine, corrective and preventive maintenance of vessels and
equipment on board ferries.
KEY DUTIES







Undertake mechanical maintenance activities as per the work order.
Prepare defects list for vessels’ dry docking.
Prepare and submit daily and monthly vessel maintenance reports.
Overhaul engines, propellers, pumps, power generating sets, and other equipment.
Carry out equipment defects trouble shooting.
Initiate development of procurement plans for the mechanical section in the engineering
department.
Any other duty as may be assigned by the Senior Engineering Technician or any other person
placed in authority.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE




Must possess a Minimum of Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering from a reputable
institution.
Must possess Marine Equipment Specialist Certificate.
Must be holder of Standard Training for Certification and Watch keeping (STCW) will be an
added advantage.
Must have at least three (3) years relevant experience in a comparable position.
