Mark Warren was new to the Regatta

Get Involved…it’s great!
As the incoming President of the Kettles it is such a pleasure to have the opportunity to give back to
the organization that has provided my children with sailing, swimming, the Regatta and other social
events.!
Having first arrived on the Kettles scene 7 years ago, I never would have
thought I would be in this position.
You can help make the Kettles a better Association, for your kids and
grandkids or just use it as a way to meet more people. No matter your
age or experience the Kettles is now looking for new members that want
to get involved and help provide more events and activities.

SUMMER :)
Thank YOU
Paul Doolan, Chair of The Church of the Kettles, and Paul Huyer, President of The Kettles Association
are very proud to announce the extraordinary success of the fundraising campaign. The donors in this
community have contributed $56,136 in donations. $5,400 of the total came directly from the proceeds of
the 2014 Silent Auction. Thank you to all those who contributed to the auction and to the Silent Auction
Co-Chairs Gayle McGraw and Lindsay Hutton.
The funds have been or will be used for the following:
•
•
•
•
East dock replacement (2014)
Reinforcing rods for the church building (2014)
New church foundations (2014)
Repairs to the West dock, West dock arm and ramp to the church (2015)
Congratulations and thanks to all!
All campaign funds will be maintained in a separate
fund, not only so that donations to the fund and
expenses for maintenance and repairs may be itemized
and reports made to you on a regular basis, but in the
event that you wish to support the capital fund on a
periodic basis there will be a discreet fund into which
the funds can be placed.
We plan to publish a list of donors to the
campaign in the 2015 edition of the Kettles
Handbook. If you did not have an opportunity to
make a donation to the campaign last summer, we
hope that you will now consider donating to our
wonderful community to ensure that the future
generations will enjoy the benefits that mean so much to all of us.

President’s Message (continued)
.
Thank you to all of the members who donated to the very successful joint Church of the
Kettles and Kettles Association fundraising campaign.
Please be sure to pay your annual membership dues either on-line or by mail as soon as you read
this newsletter. Membership dues go towards the Regatta, Handbook, dock maintenance and
insurance.
This is my final year as President and it has been my privilege to serve you. I’m pleased that the
creative and energetic Lisa Matlock will be nominated at the Annual General Meeting on June
27th to take over as President. I look forward to handing over the reigns to Lisa and seeing many of
you at the BBQ following the AGM.
Cheers!
Paul Huyer
