Pan Am Games
Tourism Ambassador Training offered
for stakeholders in Aurora, King and
Newmarket!
What is the Tourism Ambassador Training?
More than 250,000 visitors are expected to travel to the Greater Toronto Area to watch
Pan Am/Parapan Am events ranging from baseball, weightlifting, and boxing to equestrian
events, golf, badminton, table tennis, judo, bocce and water polo.
Central Counties Tourism Board has partnered with the School of Hospitality, Recreation &
Tourism at the Humber Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning to launch The Central
Counties’ Tourism Ambassador Program (TAP).
The goal of the Central Counties-Humber TAP is to provide local stakeholders in the host
destinations and surrounding communities with an overview of what Pan Am/Parapan
Am-related activities are taking place in each of the central regions. It is also provides a
Service Excellence Strategy to ensure that local service providers make the most of each
and every visitor interaction.
Who should attend?
Participants can be anyone who will be in direct contact with visitors who are coming into
the region in advance of and/or during the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. This includes those
involved with local tourism, business owners, hotel and restaurant employees, municipal
employees, people who work at local attractions or for sports organizations, transportation
providers etc.
The ultimate goal is to create a lasting SERVICE LEGACY and build a large cohort of new,
loyal and repeat visitors! Ensuring that every visitor feels welcome and leaves the region
with positive and lasting memories!
If you are interested in attending, please call 905-727-3123 ext. 4345 for more
