From the Daniel’s Den……..

What If We Had Church………
…….and everybody cam? Years ago there was
a bulletin board poster with just such a caption: “What if we had church and everybody
came?” The poster had a cartoon-like picture
of a church bulging at the seams because it
was full of people waiting to get in!
I chuckled when I saw it. Probably
some pastor sitting in his study daydreaming
came up with the poster idea. Most pastors
want to preach to a crowd not a half-empty
building! What a glorious thought therefore to
see a church full of happy worshippers!
Here are some church myths:
1. If you miss church nobody notices or
cares. My answer: Baloney!
2. My presence in church is not important. My answer: You’ve got to be kidding!
3. All the church wants is my money
anyway. My answer: A thousand time no! No,
no, no, no, no, etc., adfinitum!
4. I’m not needed at church! My
answer: You’ve got to be kidding! (Again)
5. I’ll go to church once or twice a
month. That ought to be enough. My answer:
If you paid you bills inconsistently would that
be enough? Please!
APRIL 2015
“Mary Magdalene stood outside by the tomb
weeping, and as she wept she stooped down
and looked into the tomb. And she saw two
angels in white sitting, one at the head and
the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus
had lain. Then they said to her, “Woman,
why are you weeping?” She said to them,
Because they have taken away my Lord, and
I do not know where they have laid Him.”
Now when she had said this, she turned
around and saw Jesus standing there, and
did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to
her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom
are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be
the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if you have
carried Him away, tell me where you have
laid Him, and I will take Him away.” Jesus
said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to
Him, “Rabboni!” (Which is to say, Teacher)
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I
have not yet ascended to My Father; but go
to My brethren and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My
God and your God.”
John 20:11-18
Senior Potluck
April 17th is the date for the monthly
senior potluck, at 11:15am. We feel
Spring is finally here and welcome it with
open arms! Bring a dish to share, guests
are always welcome and it’s a great way to
meet our senior group. We have a
devotional, sing some hymns, and just
have fellowship with one another. Bring
non-perishable food if you can for the
church pantry. We do food boxes for
those in need and the demand is high.
Thank you!
Got Any Box Tops?
What box top boxes you may ask! The
little pink, red, or white square on
many, many different foods called ’Box
Tops for Education’. We are collecting
these box tops for Emmanuel Christian
Academy so they can send in and
receive a check for supplies, etc. This
is a great and simple ministry that we
all can participate in. So bring the box
tops church family, it is good for our
Christian school!
PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL
BLESSINGS FLOW…………….
FSBC YOUTH
Wow, it’s spring already and spring is the
time of the year that things grow and bloom with
new life. The weather changes, it’s a wonderful
time of the year, rain, and sunshine and warmer
temperatures. So, I say let’s take advantage and
enjoy.
There are good things happening in
Peach Springs. Celebrate Recovery and church
services and outreach ministries are seeing an
increase.
First Southern has a great group of
people who are blessed and trusting GOD to use
them to minister to people in Peach Springs.
They still need some help so pray for more people to volunteer.
GOD is also using us to start a Celebrate
Recovery in Chloride and Dolan Springs. You
see GOD is working. We just need to ask Him
where He wants us working for Him.
There are other ministries that need help
and I am always plugging for them as that is
what GOD wants us to do. It only takes about
an hour a week, pray on it. Getting involved
will really change your life and you can truly
say that you are doing something to make a difference in the world. Don’t just sit around and
complain.
We have had a good response on the
adopt a chair campaign and the date is set for the
cleaning! The youth group and Sunshine Cleaning will be very busy on Saturday the 25th of
this month. It will be so nice to have really
clean chairs again!
Love You With The Love Of Jesus,
Pastor Richard Young
Remember Camp for our youth is June
15th through the 19th and the teens are really
looking forward to going. Thank you everyone
that has contributed to this cause!
Sunday Night Live for the youth will
finish on the last Sunday of April. They have
been studying the book of Romans.
What’s Your Favorite?
Lana Keller, our Praise leader wants to know
your favorite contemporary praise and worship
songs. She would like to incorporate them in the
services. You can catch Lana at church or hand
in at the office.

Office News…
April is a neat month, don’t you
think? There’s Easter and hearing the story
of the resurrection of Christ Jesus never get’s
old! I put a long scripture passage on the
front of this newsletter because it tells of the
discovery of Jesus’ rising so beautifully. I
never get tired of reading it. Bunnies, baskets
and hiding eggs is fun too, but advertising
makes Easter look like Christmas with all the
gifts and toys. Don’t we need to remember
what Easter really is? And to teach our
children the true meaning of what Christ did
for us: He died to save us from our sins, and
rose from the dead to fulfill the prophecy God
had told us would happen. What a miracle!
What a story!
I know it seems a bit early to mention
Vacation Bible School, but it really isn’t. It
takes a lot of work and planning to do VBS.
If you can help in any way, fill out one of the
blanks in the bulletins and hand in to the
office or put in one of the tithe boxes. I am
directing VBS for this year, and would love to
hear from you.
Dear church family, I hope you the
best as we go into Spring and face all of the
events and activities that we all have on our
schedules. Take time to “stop and smell the
roses”, look at the beautiful sky and clouds
and enjoy all that blooms.
