Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Saturday 30 May
Depart South Africa for an overnight flight to Tel Aviv. Flights and times still to be finalized.
Day 2
Sunday 31 May
Arrive in Tel Aviv, Joppa, Caesarea and Mount Carmel
After arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv we will depart to Jaffa (Joppa) which is the
ancient port city out of which Tel Aviv has now grown. Next we will proceed to Caesarea
which was built in 13BC by Herod the Great and the home town of Pilatus, Phillipus and
Cornelius. Thereafter we will visit Mount Carmel (Muhraka) the site where Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal. Dinner, overnight and breakfast in Tiberias on the shores of
Galilee.
Day 3
Monday 1 June
Cana, Nazareth Village, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Tabgha, Yardenit
Today after breakfast we will travel to Cana, the site of the First Miracle where Jesus
turned water into wine. Here you will have an opportunity to renew your marriage vows.
Thereafter we will continue to Nazareth to visit the Nazareth Village which is an open air
museum that reconstructs and reenacts village life in the Galilee in the time of Jesus. We
will the depart to visit the Mountain of Beatitudes (Matthew 5 -7) where Jesus is
believed to have delivered the Sermon on the Mount and Tabgha on the edge of the sea
of Galilee where Jesus multiplied the bread and fish. This is followed by a visit to the
ancient city of Capernaum where Jesus spent much of his ministry time. We will visit a
2nd century Synagogue and the ruins of Peter’s house. Our last stop will be Yardenit,
the traditional baptism site on the Jordan where you will be able to be baptised in the
Jordan River. Overnight and dinner at Tiberias. Registration for the Bible Conference.

Day 6
Thursday 4 June
Beit Sean, Jericho, Qumran, Ein Gedi and Dead Sea
After breakfast we say farewell to Tiberias and drive past the ancient city of Beit Shean
where the bodies of Saul and his sons were nailed to the walls of the town. We will
continue to Jericho, the oldest city in the world where we will stop to ascend the Mount
of Temptation by cable car. We then proceed to visit Qumran the site of the discovery of
the Dead Sea Scrolls and Ein Gedi which is an oasis in the desert. Thereafter we will
depart to our hotel at the Dead Sea where we will have an opportunity to swim in the
amazing waters of the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea.
Day 7
Friday 5 June
Masada, Bethlehem, and the Wailing Wall
After breakfast we depart to visit the fortress of Masada by cable car where 967 Jews
committed suicide rather than die at the hands of the Romans. We will proceed to visit
Bethlehem, the shepherd’s field where the shepherds heard of the birth of Jesus. We
will also visit the oldest church in the world where Jesus was born. We visit an olive wood
factory in Bethlehem. Thereafter we will travel to Jerusalem to visit the Western Wall, the
holiest place of the Jews and the Site of the Temple and will also get a chance to walk
through the underground tunnels in Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 8
Saturday 6 June
Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, St Peter in Galicantu, and Upper Room
After breakfast we will start the day with a visit to the Mount of Olives, where we will
have a beautiful panoramic view of Jerusalem. We will then walk the route used on
Palm Sunday, where Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. Thereafter we will visit the
Dominus Flevit, a Roman Catholic church on the Mount of Olives, opposite the walls of
the Old City of Jerusalem. We will go on to the garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was
agonised before his betrayal and arrest. We will also visit the Hall of the Last Supper and
the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, built on the site of the house of the High Priest
Caiaphas. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 9
Sunday 7 June
City of David, St Stephens Gate, Pool of Bethesda, Via Dolorosa and the Garden Tomb
After breakfast we will depart to visit the City of David the birthplace of the city of
Jerusalem, the place where King David established his kingdom. We will then enter the Old
City through the Lions Gate to visit the Pools of Bethesda and the Church of St. Anne. We
will then walk along the Via Dolorosa following the Stations of the Cross. We will end the
day with communion at the Garden Tomb. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 10
Monday 8 June
DEPART
After breakfast we depart on a flight after a wonderful tour through Israel with beautiful
memories, an enriched spirit and a large circle of new friends.
Day 11
Tuesday 9 June
Arrive back in South Africa after a never to be forgotten trip to the Holy Land.
The tour price of R28 990 is based on current air fares and land arrangement costs
available at the time of compiling this tour program and is subject to change. Due to
the current fluctuation of the international rates of exchange, it has been decided to
base all our programs on an exchange rate of $1 = R10
