Marketing and Communication Paid Internship
Description
King’s Lynn Arts Centre Trust is looking for a graduate for the Marketing and Communication
Internship to join our team for 6 months. This Visual Marketing and Communication Intern will work
within a small team and alongside the Assistant Director and the General Manager in order to reach
specific objectives within time schedules, whilst promoting the Arts Centre’s activities. This intern
will complete the internship having gained a broad experience within an arts organisation.
Responsibilities

Work alongside the Assistant Director and the General Manager to develop the Marketing
Strategy commensurate with King’s Lynn Arts Centre’s aims, objectives and activities.

Find new ways to promote our cultural offer and improve the visibility and potential of the
Arts Centre (podcasts, video, signage etc..)

Manage social media channels, update website, manage the display of all the showcases
when needed, compilation and circulation of the monthly newsletter.

Liaise with press, theatre companies, artists and KLACT volunteers to ensure an adequate
promotion of shows, exhibitions, workshops and projects.

Create marketing support for event, such as flyers, posters and propose new ideas to
develop our activities.

Organise a promotional event to raise awareness of new European Opportunities alongside
our European volunteers.

Awareness of and compliance with customer care procedures and sales procedures.
Requirements
With a strong interest in entering a position in the non-profit sector, the intern will have a degree in
a relevant subject, and will have excellent research, written and oral communication skills.
Organisational skills and attention to detail are also indispensable.
The intern will be interested social media and will have digital skills: twitter, facebook, google+,
Pinterest, Instagram etc… Excellent computer skills are indispensable, with experience of working on
the internet.
This intern must be confident and creative in order to offer new ideas. Needs to be able to work well
both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Health and Safety training, digital fundraising or social media training will be provided according to
the intern’s needs.
Working within a busy community Arts Centre, the post holder will be required to be flexible,
adaptable and willing to undertake any other duties that may be deemed necessary.
