ADMINISTRATIVE INTERNSHIP JOB DESCRIPTION Organization Summary The Trust for the National Mall is the official non-profit partner of the National Park Service dedicated to raising the necessary funds to restore and improve the National Mall. Simply put, our mission is to make the National Mall the best park in the world. Position Summary The Administrative Intern is responsible for assisting with the smooth operational office aspects of the Trust for the National Mall. In order for all colleagues at the Trust to do the work they are charged with, the Administrative Intern will: help facilitate working with vendors; handle basic financial matters; plan and execute office events; help organize staff meetings; keep supplies in stock; make sure the facilities are clean/safe, and help in developing cost and efficiency savings. Interns working with the Administrative team will have a great opportunity to learn about the all of the work the organization is undertaking from a high-level point of view. The internship candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills. They must possess the skills necessary to prioritize effectively and follow through on multiple projects simultaneously. They must demonstrate impeccable verbal and written skills. Proficient use of MS Office applications is required. He/She must be a high energy, mature and someone who can work effectively as a member of a team. Good judgment, discipline of discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information, sense of urgency, accuracy and cooperation are essential to this position. Scope The Administrative Intern plays an important role in the Trust team with regards to daily tasks, long term projects and assistance with staffing events and meetings. Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Database management experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Enthusiasm and dedication to teamwork. Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to organize and prioritize work with guidance of internship supervisor. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills.
