The Tempe Impact Education (TIE) Foundation and Tempe Sunrise Kiwanis Club have been serving the needs of the children of Tempe Elementary School District since 1967. We are a federally tax exempt 501(c)3 charitable foundation. Our Federal Tax Number is 86-0670224. TIE supports children in a number of ways: Our “Connecting with Kids” program provides school supplies, clothing, shoes, hygiene products and medical needs to enable children who lack these necessities to attend school. Musical Instruments- Many students who want to participate in band or orchestra cannot do so unless an instrument is provided. Musical education greatly improves children’s cognitive skills. Math, Science and Music Awards-Outstanding students are recognized for their academic accomplishments. These low-cost awards go a long way in encouraging the abilities and talents of young students. Reserve Funds for Sports Activities-Pays required fees and/or insurance enabling students to participate in sports activities. Summer Enrichment Scholarships-Children in need can attend Summer Enrichment School, which enables them to be better prepared for the regular academic Instructional year. Staff Scholarship Reimbursement Program-We provide scholarships to teachers and support staff for classes leading to degrees or advanced degrees/certifications in a teaching specialty. Beans & Rice Program-In December, donated beans and rice is distributed to participating Tempe Elementary School’s families in need for the holidays. Tempe Elementary School District’s Universal Preschool Program-We currently have preschools at two of our schools and plan additional preschools. Preschool is necessary so that every student entering kindergarten is academically and socially prepared for school. We recognize that you receive many requests for donations from many fine service organizations. We hope that the work the TIE Foundation and Tempe Sunrise Kiwanis Club do for the children in our community will convince you to assist us. “Our Children are our future.” For further information about the golf tournament or to arrange a donation, please call Matt Greenhalgh at (602) 568-5225 or Joe Spracale at (480) 940-0958.
