For Immediate Release: March 27, 2015 CSL PLASMA OPENS NEW LOCATION IN GLEN BURNIE Donation Center at Cromwell Field Shopping Center is CSL Plasma’s first in the Mid-‐Atlantic BALTIMORE (March 27, 2015) – CSL Plasma Inc., one of the world’s largest collectors of human plasma, has opened its first Mid-‐Atlantic location in Maryland at Cromwell Field Shopping Center in Glen Burnie, a property managed by Klein Enterprises. “We are excited to announce the opening of our newest location in Glen Burnie. The Cromwell Field Shopping Center is an excellent location and we’ve received inquiries about when we will open,” said Sonya Williams, CSL Plasma Senior Manager, Corporate Communications and Community Relations. “We look forward to developing close relationships with the local community and area merchants.” In order to donate life-‐saving plasma, individuals must meet strict eligibility criteria and are medically screened. Residents who are at least 18 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in good health, should consider being a plasma donor. The collection process is called “plasmapheresis” and takes approximately 90 minutes. If eligible, donors may donate up to two times a week in a seven day period (with at least 48 hours in-‐between donations). The plasma collected is used to produce lifesaving therapies that treat conditions such as coagulation disorders including hemophilia and von Willebrand disease, primary immune deficiencies, hereditary angioedema, inherited respiratory disease and neurological disorders. The plasma collected by CSL Plasma is also used to manufacture products used in cardiac surgery, organ transplantation, burn treatment and for prevention of hemolytic disease of the newborn. “CSL Plasma was in search of a Mid-‐Atlantic location with a strong connection to the community and convenient access to the center for potential donors,” said Michael Klein, CEO of Klein Enterprises. “The Cromwell Field Shopping Center in Glen Burnie is a perfect match because of its close proximity to the Light Rail, the BWI Business Corridor and Baltimore City.” Patricia Palumbo, Broker and Director of Leasing with Klein Enterprises, represented the landlord, Cromwell Field Associates, LLLP; and Chethan Rao and Jeffrey Maza, of DTZ, represented CSL Plasma in the transaction. Palumbo toured CSL Plasma’s Greeneville, SC location in April 2013 and returned with very positive take away and recommendation to ownership. “This is a first class operation and a beautiful facility. The owners are very pleased to have CSL in Cromwell Field, and they have been a pleasure to work with through the entire process,” said Palumbo. The donation center will be open Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donors are compensated for their time and are encouraged to shop at stores in the local community including those that have partnered with CSL Plasma through their merchant partnership program. CSL Plasma works with local merchants to establish discounts, free food or merchandise, etc. while encouraging loyal plasma donors to shop local. Donors are compensated with a Visa prepaid debit card. For more information, interested individuals may call the Glen Burnie plasma center at 410-‐999-‐6421.
