mindful when choosing your formal that is it not too brief. It is ok to
have spaghetti straps or semi–backless as long as it is not bare midriff
or plunging neckline that might be too revealing. Looking forward to

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2015:
Klein Oak would like to recognize all seniors who received scholarships or
grants at senior awards. Please submit a copy of all scholarships and grants to
any university you’ve been admitted to whether attending or not and any
outside scholarships you have received to Mrs. Holloway in the Class of 2016
office by May 8th. You may also submit the letters via email to
[email protected]. NO LATE submissions will be accepted.
Biology I and Algebra 1 EOC/STAAR Tutorials this
Saturday, May 2nd 8:30-11:30am. Sign up in
Blackboard
Applications for leadership team 2015-16 are now ready to be picked up. All
students (even if already on team) must fill out application and turn in to Ms. A
by May 28th. The leadership team students must attend the Workshop July 21,
22, and 27th for the fish camp event. There are only 80 spots on the team and
those in good standing will be first to fill those spots. The ropes course is an
evening event.
The students on the leadership team can choose sessions at fish camp that they
will to attend. They do not need to attend all the camp academies.
The application form is attached and they need to circle the days and times they
would be available to assist.
Students interested in taking dual credit classes for the 2015-16 school
year need to turn in their TSI scores, ACT scores, or SAT scores to Ms.
Medlin or Ms. Barton in order to receive a blue dual credit registration
form. These blue dual credit registration forms will be due on May 15 to
Ms. Medlin or Ms. Barton. Fall dual credit testing, registration, and
payment must be completed by June 1st.

Students in 9th – 11th grade: What are you doing this Summer?
Lone Star College and JP Morgan Chase is offering a wonderful
opportunity for a summer college institute experience. You will explore
2 year and 4 year post-secondary programs/careers in these target sectors:
Oil & Gas, Advanced Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Ports & Maritime,
and Commercial & Industrial Construction. Please see attached flyer for
more information. To register, please see Mrs. Holloway in the Class of
2016 office. Space is limited to the first (25) students.
Student Verification sheets for the 2015-2016 course selections were
distributed Thursday, April 9th during 2nd period. Any requests to
change a student’s course selection(s) must be noted, signed by
student and parent, and returned to their counselor. ONLY THIS
FORM MAY BE USED TO REQUEST A CHANGE. Any changes will be
due to your counselor by Monday, May 18th.
Early voting ends May 5. Vote in Room 1019A of
the Freshman Wing - Election Day is May 9th!

Do you have a graduating senior? Be sure to access
the attached Senior Information Booklet for
upcoming important dates!
On Monday, May 4, 2015, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 Wednesday, May 6, 2015 students will be
taking the Algebra, Biology and US History EOC/STAAR exams respectively. Students
who did not previously meet the passing standards will also retest on these days. As a
result, we will operate on an alternate bell schedule to accommodate testing. The school
day will begin at the normal time of 7:20AM for all students who are testing. Students
who have previously passed these EOCs, or those who are not testing, will have late
arrival to school and will need to report to their 1st period classes by 9:30AM on the
appropriate day. *Please note that buses will run on their regular schedule.* The
school day will be ending at 2:20 PM instead of the regular 1:58 PM ending for both
Monday and Wednesday. The school day will end at its normal time of 2:30 for Tuesday.
Students may bring a snack, but it must be in a clear plastic baggie and “clean”, not
Cheetos, Doritos, peaches, etc. Also, NO outside drinks will be permitted into testing
rooms.

The 4th Annual Kleinwell Family Fitness Fair is Saturday, May 2, from 8:00
a.m. to noon at Klein Memorial Stadium. The Fair features community
vendors, games, music, moonwalks, and FREE fun activities for
everyone. During the Fair more than 50 Door prices will be given away
including restaurant gift cards, selfie sticks, ear buds, lego sets, Top Golf
package, and much more! The goal of the Fair is for everyone attending
to have a great time and to promote a culture of wellness throughout the
Klein community. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors and have a
fun morning together.

Attention Senior Class of 2016! How would you like the chance to
interview for a position as a paid intern at Exxon-Mobil? Interviews
will be coming up to fill positions at the new Springwoods Village
campus starting this summer. You'll work Mon-Fri and make $10/hr
while gaining valuable experience. The only requirements are you
must be a Senior next school year and be enrolled in the COOP

being a part of COOP in order to have a shot at this fantastic

the username and password from the Class of 2015 counselors.
If you will be a JR or SR next year...listen up! Do you work to
pay for your car note, cell phone or just to have your own
money to spend as you wish? Did you know you there's a way
to get out of school early to go to work and at the same time
and earn academic credit? You can take advantage of all
these benefits by joining the Klein Oak CO-OP program. Only
available to Jr's and Srs so talk to your counselor or Mrs. Sims
for more details.

Parents --- Have you moved? Changed your contact numbers? It is
imperative that you keep the school informed of your contact
information. Address changes cannot be accepted by email or by
phone. If you move, a new proof of residence (current electric, gas
or water bill only) is required to change the address and provide a
new bus pass to the student. If you have not yet received a new
utility bill, a new lease or closing statement will work for 30 days
until a new bill is received. Contact the staff in the registrars’ office

via email to the email addresses above. Be sure to include the
names of all affected students.
As a general rule, report cards are distributed to students within one
week of the conclusion of a grading period, which is usually on a Friday.
