Both performances are free and open to the public. “CAST students have been digging into the art and process of playwriting,” says Kevin D. West, Artistic Director of CAST. “This will be the first opportunity for our young playwrights to hear their words on stage, and see how actors inhabit the characters and scenes they’ve created. It will be an exciting event for writers, performers and audience members.” Students will continue to hone their original scripts and performances, culminating in a full CAST production of new works at the Capri this summer. The CAST program is free and open to all students currently enrolled in high school. For more information on the summer or school-year CAST programs, contact Kevin West at 612-643-2039 or [email protected]. CAST is funded through generous support from the Carlson Family Foundation. CAST is also made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. The Capri Theater is owned and operated by Plymouth Christian Youth Center (PCYC), and Capri arts programs are funded, in part, with support from The McKnight Foundation and individual donors to PCYC’s annual fund. ###
