consists of 2 delegates from each of the 134 councils and
37 local assemblies. Additionally, 25 State Officers,
Directors and Chairmen, 26 District Deputies, Past State
Deputies, Bishops and Clergy completes the list of the
Delegates for the British Columbia and Yukon 104th Annual
State AGM and Convention.
The State AGM and Convention will be held in a Convention
Center which accommodates over 600 people at one
seating, at a centrally located Sheraton Vancouver Airport
Hotel in Richmond, British Columbia starting Thursday,
April 23, 2015 to Sunday, April 26, 2015.
For more than 100 years, the British Columbia and Yukon
State Annual General Meeting and Convention has been
convened not only to conduct the business of the State
Council, which is one of the 72 State Councils within the
Order worldwide , having oversight of all local Councils, but
also to foster better working relationships between the
local Councils and Assemblies within BC and Yukon.
With a Planning Committee Taskforce of 18 members
headed by State Convention Chairman Edgardo Panes,
preparations are in full swing endeavoring to make this 4
days Convention an enjoyable and noteworthy event.
One of the highlights of the business session is the Election
of the new set of State Executive Board. State Deputy
Edward Shawchuk will complete his second term this June
30, 2015.
Saturday’s State Deputy’s Banquet will showcase local
councils and members of the Knights with recognition for
outstanding service and accomplishments from the
preceding year.
The Liturgical Mass which is the central focus of each day
of the Convention will have homily that will center on the
theme of this year’s convention: But He said to them,
“You give them something to eat”.
The Organizing Committee is planning to publish a
Convention Souvenir Magazine, a commemorative book
that would promote the various service programs and
activities of the Knights of Columbus in the entire
jurisdiction. Copies of the souvenir magazine will be
provided to each convention delegate for keepsake and to
share with his Council and/or Assembly members.
