KOKODA PROPERTY DONATES $20,000 OF DISPLAY FURNITURE TO WESLEY MISSION
VICTORIA
Kokoda Property is one of Melbourne’s most respected developers of luxury apartment projects, recently
winning the UDIA award for the best medium density development, for the iconic Lex project on the Yarra
River in South Yarra. In January they handed over 95 apartments in Oakleigh and currently have another 2
projects under construction in Hawthorn East.
Evergreen is Kokoda’s latest project which will be developed on the old site of the Uniting Church occupied by
the Wesley Mission at 1 Westley Ave in Ivanhoe. Linlithgow caters for people living in the City of Banyule, who
are over 65 years’ people with disability and experience who are at risk of social isolation. Wesley Mission
vacated the premises in August last year to move to a new location on Lower Heidelberg Rd. The existing
home was then transformed into a state of the art Display Suite providing a 3D cinema experience and a
virtual apartment fitted out with kitchen, bathroom and small scale replica of the proposed entry lobby and
rooftop terrace for the 130 apartments to be constructed.
Kokoda’s display suite opened in late October to unprecedented demand from local buyers, which resulted in
all but 1 of the 3 bedroom apartments selling out within the first week and more than 50% of the project
selling within a 3 week period. Only 1 apartment now remains for sale, a premium townhouse style 3 bedroom
with its own private driveway and street entry and therefore demolition on the display suite commenced last
week. The Display Suite was designed and furnished by award winning Carr Design who is currently working on
the recently launched Australia 108 project, which will become Melbourne’s tallest building and the highest
residences in the Southern Hemisphere.
Kokoda Property is a proud supporter of a number of charities including the foundation “One Life Larger”. The
foundation supports those that are less fortunate in our local and overseas community. It has contributed to
several causes including building local schools overseas and providing accommodation to refugees in Australia
as well as providing permanent housing for local Australians. As part of this ongoing support, Kokoda Property
chose to donate $20,000 of display furniture from their Ivanhoe project – Evergreen, to the previous tenants
of the site, Wesley Mission Victoria.
Sales & Marketing Director of Kokoda Property – Sam Tucker, proudly handed over the furniture to Victorian’s
Linlithgow Coordinator Penel Anderson last Thursday. Penel was very thankful for the generous donation, “it is
greatly appreciated and will help make our services feel more homely”. This followed Kokoda’s demolition
cocktail party where the purchasers and consultants were entertained by a jazz band and enjoyed tapas from
local restaurant Little Boy Blue
Kokoda Property now turns it focus to their latest acquisition of a site in Glen Iris, which will develop 95 luxury
residences providing 1, 2 & 3 bedroom penthouse apartments.
