Happy Father’s Day
And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their
children and the hearts of children to their
fathers…
Malachi 4:6
Father’s Day is Sunday, June 21st;
a day to honor our fathers or
those men that have been a father
figure in our lives.
Wednesday Night Meals
Summer Break for the
Kitchen Crew!
How thankful we are that we have a kitchen
crew that puts together menus, shops for paper
goods and food, lines up cooks, do a lot of the
cooking themselves, sets up the fellowship hall
every week, and clean up afterwards. And
helpers are few.
Our kitchen crew will take a break for the
summer months (June, July, August). We will
not offer a meal on Wednesday nights at the
church until sometime in September.
Over the summer, be thinking of how
you can help with Wednesday meals
when they begin again in September.
Life’s Choices Baby Bottle Fundraiser
Please be sure to turn in baby bottles on or before
Father’s Day. You may leave them with the
volunteer at the Visitor Center. If you were unable
to fill the bottle with change, just bring it back with
however much you were able to give. Every coin
helps!
Thank You for Helping with
this Ministry!

Our Ministers and Leadership at Lake Eustis Christian
`
“Loaves and Fishes” ministry is to provide a
little help to individuals or families who’ve hit
a bit of a rough spot. This ministry helps in the
form of groceries—from essential nonperishables to proteins and fresh produce.
Through this ministry, we can take care of
people or families within our own
congregation as well as bless people in the
community we know with special needs.
There are various ways to get involved. There
will be a bin in the foyer marked “Loaves and
Fishes” where you can drop non-perishables
off at any time. If you’d like to assist with
fresh goods, there will be one day a month for
collection and distribution. You can drop off
goods on that day, (a sign-up sheet is on the
collection bin; sign up to let us know what you
will bring!) or come by just as hands to help
bag up the goodies. If you like the idea of
helping with fresh goods like meats or
produce, but don’t think you can make that
collection day, you can make a donation in the
offering with “Loaves and Fishes” on the
memo line.
Some suggestions: Dry Goods: Pasta, noodles,
rice; pasta sauce; canned veggies or fruits;
canned or dry beans; canned tuna or chicken;
canned soup; peanut butter; oatmeal; simple
cereals like Cheerios or Corn Flakes; juice
boxes; raisins or dried fruits; trail mix
Fresh Goods: Produce (Potatoes, Tomatoes,
Carrots, Green Beans, Apples, Grapes,
Bananas, Citrus, Salad); bread; eggs; milk;
cheese (slices, sticks or shredded); fresh
meats; lunch meats; bacon; ham slices or
cubes; non-Frozen reheatable meals (for ex:
Hormel entrees or Curly’s BBQ)

are interested in helping.

“Do Something”
Let us not become weary in Doing GOOD, for at the
proper time we will reap a harvest if we DO NOT GIVE
UP.
Galatians 6:9
Remember your faith promise commitment for 2015. And
remember to DO SOMETHING throughout the year.

Center for updates on missions that we support.
Lake Aurora Christian Camp
Summer camp is not a new concept. Its premise and impact have been heralded since the
beginning of time. Life began in a garden and the benefits of being outdoors are unsurpassed. The
time spent alone with God and building relationshjps with others only strengthens one’s spirit to be all
that God called them to be.
Jesus may not have gone to summer camp but how many times did He retreat to remote places to
collect His thoughts and prepare for the next phase of His ministry? On numerous accounts we see
God’s people finding strength and power by stepping away from their hustle and bustle to get back
in touch with their Creator. Moses gained purpose and direction, the children of Israel separated
from Egypt’s corruption to learn to depend solely on God and Paul spent three years in the Arabian
wilderness preparing to be one of the world’s greatest missionaries ever!
Now that’s camp! A place to reconnect, unplug, reinforce, learn, fail safely, grow, and become a
life- long servant and Christ follower. It’s the power of time, nature, unfamiliar surroundings, and
dependence on God.
Lake Aurora tries to meet the needs of every type of camper in a variety of programs. Our
traditional onsite programs involve the camper at every level, mentally, physically, spiritually and
emotionally while still providing some comforts of home. Our Life Expedition programs take away
those comforts and challenges young people in natural, rustic settings. Our Leadership
developments track focuses on making life decisions to serve no matter the career choice but also
emphasizing a world view to reach ‘the least of these’.
Follow the biblical example of Jesus, Paul, and Old Te4stament heros into the wilderness. Encourage
and support a young person to come to camp this summer and hear His voice!
Summer
Greg Wasden is a native of Winter Park,
Florida and is currently attending Johnson
University Florida pursuing a Preaching
and Church Leadership degree. Going into his
senior year, Greg hopes to graduate next spring
and go into vocational ministry. He enjoys
doing anything musical, such as
playing guitar or piano in his free time. Being a die-hard Miami Hurricanes
fan he will surely get along with our very own Brian Palmer. Greg is looking
forward to working and learning with the people of Lake Eustis Christian
Church and is excited about what God is doing and will continue to
accomplish here at LECC.
Internship
Don’t Fall Out of Habit
Picking up bad habits is fairly easy to do. Whether
it’s biting our fingernails, popping our knuckles, or chewing
our food with our mouth open, we can develop these habits
without even realizing we are doing them. Most of the time we pick up bad habits
because we are lazy, and don’t want to put forth the effort to do something right.
Summer is normally a laid back time of year. It’s hot outside and most of us are
thinking about the beach or closest pool to cool off in. We plan backyard bar-b-que
feasts and water balloon fights. Summer is an easy time to just unwind and unplug from
all the demands. But I want to encourage you to not develop the bad habit of
disengaging from being in the word of God.
Here at Lake Eustis we suspend our Connection Groups (home bible studies) for
the summer to give our leaders a break and allow families to do different things together.
What we don’t want you to do is to take a break from being involved in a study of God’s
word. I want to encourage you to join us on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:00pm for a
great time of Study and Fellowship. We have several classes to choose from for adults.
There is a class that is covering the exciting life of Jesus as we work through the Gospel
of Mark and there is a class that is covering the question, “Who is Jesus?” Each one of
these classes will give you as an adult a great opportunity to grow in your faith and trust
in God. We also have classes for children of every age range in the church. We even
have a nursery provided on Wednesday nights. So if you are
not in the habit of coming to one of our Wednesday night studies, this is your invitation to
start a Great Habit in learning about Christ. Come see us any Wednesday night.
Adopt-a-Puppet
for a Child in Jamaica
Help our teens raise money for their mission trip to
Jamaica in July.
We would love for every child who attends the VBS we
hold in Jamaica to receive a puppet and personal
message. We have one month left to accomplish this.
Please help by adopting a puppet.
See Maria Avans if you have any questions. Look for the youth table that will be set up in the lobby.

Promotion
All children that will be moving up
to a new Sunday school class will do
so on Sunday, June 7th. If you
have any questions you may contact
your child’s present teacher, or

Summer is Here!
School is out and many families will be taking a
vacation sometime in the next couple of
months. No matter where you go, or how far
away you are, or how much fun you are having,
take time to read your Bible and have devotion
time. Thank the Lord for all the many blessings
He gives us each day.

Christmas Store
In June we begin collecting gifts for our annual Christmas Store. Each year we help needy families in our
community to be able to give their children something for Christmas. We focus on a specific age group
and gender each month leading up to Christmas. There will be a Christmas Store table in the lobby the
2nd Sunday of each month for you to drop off gifts. Please drop off new toys only. Listed below is a
sample of targeted age groups/genders for each month. This is strictly a guideline to help you focus on
specific groups. We will accept any item at any time.
June – Preschool Girl Toys
July – Preschool Boy Toys
August – Elementary Girl Toys
September – Elementary Boy Toys
October – Girl Clothes & Toys
November – Boy Clothes & Toys
December – Anything from the list above
Please purchase items that will last a long time. Look for sales; purchase toys and clothing. Do not
purchase food items or any type of school supplies. Contact Maria Avans or Susan Walker if you have any
questions.
On Saturday, August 15th we will be hosting our 5th Annual Back 2
School Blitz for the families in our community. We will be inviting
families to come out for this event to prepare their kids for the
upcoming school year. While the families are at our event they can take
advantage of free haircuts, eye exams, sports physicals, and school
supplies.
In 2014 we helped over 450 elementary age children; therefore, we
anticipate that there will be hundreds of kids at this event. Because of
this, we desperately need your help as we prepare for this ministry.
Here are a couple ways you can help for this event.
1. We have partnered with some local organizations and many of the school supplies have been
donated. We still need Washable Markers and #2 Pencils. Each child receives a set of markers and a
set of ten pencils, so we will need a lot of help with this.
2. Volunteer to help. We will have many different stations at this event ranging from serving food to
inflatable bounce houses. You can sign up for a station in the church lobby.
3. Help with advertising this event. We are creating an event page on Facebook and we would love to
have you “like” it and share it on your Facebook page. Social Media is a great outlet to invite others
to this event. Help us spread the word through social media.
4. Pray for this event. We can plan, purchase supplies and prepare food, but only God can move in the
hearts of families. We want this event to be a blessing to the community in which we can build
relationships with families in order to introduce them to Jesus who can change their lives.
Thank you so much for your partnership as we serve our
community.
Move
Christ
In
Youth
Dear Church Family,
First, I would like to say thank you for all the love that Lake Eustis Christian shows to our
students! Second, I would like to share with you a little about Move. Move (CIY) is more than just
another conference or camp – it’s an experience! It’s an all-inclusive event providing food,
lodging, recreational activities and an amazing program. Our adult leaders are provided with
small group materials prior to the event, and then we meet with CIY staff each morning to go over
each day’s lesson. Students are challenged through intense, interactive worship, dynamic
preaching, small group study and community building. It provides programs for over 27,000 high
school students. The cost of Move is $350.00 per student.
Please be in prayer now for our high school students to have open ears and eyes so they
can clearly see and hear Jesus. Move has changed my life forever! When I attended Move as a
student it made a huge impact on my life. It opened my eyes to how Jesus wanted me to live.
The dates for Move are June 7th – 13th. This next part is from the Move website which is talking
about the theme for the week.
In high school. At work. On a team. In a family.
For four years. For eight hours. All season. Your whole life.
Your geography is limited. Love it or hate it, you can only be in one place at a time. But you can
do more than just survive. You can embrace your place. God placed you here. And He's here too.
The book of Daniel is an ancient story with modern implications. A group of teenagers were exiled
to a foreign land, left to deal with the reality of life in a diverse world. In the shadow of Babylon,
they learned it is possible to speak the language of a culture yet still worship God. It's possible to
long for home but still speak truth with love and grace. The Kingdom needs you to bless the
country – not the other way around. This was Daniel's story. And it's your story too.
MOVE 2015 invites you to look at your own life through the life of Daniel.
To join the beautiful resistance ...
To stop hating culture and start creating culture ...
To live life under the rule of the King ...
To pray a new prayer ...
You are here.
Thanks in advance for loving and praying for our kids!
In Christ,
Brian Palmer
