Good luck tomorrow to our History Day Students competing at the State Competition at the U of M!

Next week is Wellness Week!
o On Wednesday it is Walk/Bike to school day. Mr. Pritchard and Mr. O’Brien will be in the foyers handing out
stickers and hi-fives. If you walk or bike to school on Wednesday you will be entered in a raffle at school.
Prizes will be a bike lock, bike maps, jump ropes and 4 tickets to a Minnesota Twins game.
o Cheer on the Keewaydin Double Dutch Team at the District Competition on Thursday, May 7 at Roosevelt
High School from 5-7pm.
o Next FRIDAY- we wrap up Wellness Week with a Woodlawn Neighborhood Walk. We are going to hike to
school with some of the people who make our neighborhood great. We are expecting Mayor Hodges,
firefighters, police officers and Minnesota Gopher Basketball Star Trent Tucker who is now our MPS Athletic
Director. Don’t miss the Woodlawn Walk next Friday, May 8th.

Wenonah is looking for a few volunteers:
o May 12th 6-7:30 Kindergarten Registration. Greet our new students and assist our teachers in the
kindergarten rooms as they introduce students to the classroom and take a bus ride.
o Taste test- Friday, May 22nd 11:15-12:30 OR 12:30-1:45 Serve small samples of a special allergy-free
organic and local salad prepared in partnership with Wise Acres Farms.

MCA TESTING CONTINUES AT KEEWAYDIN. IT IS IMPORTANT FOR EVERY STUDENT TO BE AT SCHOOL UNTIL
DISMISSAL AT 4:10PM. THANK YOU!


o May 15 Carnival News! Carnival Tickets on Sale Now! Save 5 dollars now and buy advance tickets $20/50 tickets. At
the door tickets are $25/50 tickets. Carnival Cake Walk items needed! Please donate prizes for the cake walk. We are
looking for things like fruit snacks, candy bars, monster cookies, little Debbie snacks, granola bars, cookies, cupcakes.
Please drop them off in either school office by May 14.

Middle School Dance, May 15 at Keewaydin 6-8pm. Theme is Old School Hollywood.


This week Wenonah moved the lunchroom outside for grades 1 and 2. Everyone loved eating under the crabapple
tree! We plan to make this happen 2 times per week until the end of the year.
