Spring Conference Program

Session #1- “Every Student is a Success”
Dr. Hank Johnson
This presentation is designed to help teachers and administrators understand the complexities of motivation and the
psychological implications for students. We will investigate why some students seem to resist motivation while others embrace
the feedback and become more productive. Finally, we will discuss some techniques that have proven to be highly effective in
helping students become productive by enhancing self-esteem.
Session #2- “Power to the Professor and Success for the Student”
Robert Onorato
This session will discuss and demonstrate methods and techniques that will activate teaching, integrate retention into the
classroom, develop success through persistence, and connect students to their professors through meaningful learning.
Session #3- “Texting and VM-Engaging From Inquiry to Alumni”
Jeri Prochaska, Linda Heiland
There’s the right way and the wrong way to position your message. The right way opens doors. The wrong way kills incentive.
You’ll enjoy this interactive session presented by Text Aim as they demonstrate good examples and specifics that get results
and those that fall into the oops category. You’ll come away with a better understanding of courtesy and protocol and effective
positioning that keeps the conversation rolling throughout the entire student lifecycle.
Breakout Session #1- “Mastery Leadership Training”
Kristi Tift
This session will focus on attitudinal assessment of leadership capabilities and the measurement of energy level based on
attitude, perception, and perspective of the world around us. Because attitude is subjective, it can be altered. This workshop
will teach you how to alter your attitude and perspective, make a shift in your consciousness, and increase your energy and
leadership effectiveness.
Breakout Session #2- “Improving Student Outcomes Through Faculty Development: A Case Study on a Self-Paced Faculty
Training Course”
Tara Kai
This presentation shares the strategy, design, and impact of a self-paced faculty training course implemented at a national forprofit school after noticing decreased success rates in blended courses. The courses prepared faculty for effective
communications, assessment, and instruction in a blended environment, and then measured the impact on student outcomes.
1.
Discuss integration between in-class & online components
2.
Identify specific courses at your institution that would be ideal for blended learning
3.
Examine how you will measure the impact of these self-paced courses on faculty and student outcomes
4.
Discuss how the blended learning model can increase student success and grow the effectiveness of your programs
