Dr. Deborah Majeed is Professor and Chair in the Philosophy
and Religious Studies Department at Beloit College. Her
research and scholarship focuses on the interconnections
between religion, gender and culture, considering issues of
social, political, racial and religious injustice, particularly
regarding women. Her book, Encounters of Intimate Sisterhood: Polygyny in the World of African American Muslims is
forthcoming from the University Press of Florida.
