There will be a People’s
Choice award presented at
the end of the exhibition.
All young artists in New Zealand, between the ages of 15
and 27, are invited to enter this prestigious competition.
This is a selected show and we are honoured to announce
our judge this year will be Leafa Wilson. Leafa graduated
with a Bachelor of Fine Art from Otago Polytechnic School
of Fine Art, seeing much success as an artist and is currently
a curator at the Waikato Museum.
The finalists will have their work on show to the public, for
a month, at ArtsPost Gallery, Hamilton.
This award is open to independent artists as well as
students who are prepared to jump the boundaries of their
curriculum.
Original visual art work, that is unique, imaginative,
delightful and thought provoking, is welcome.

Competition Poster and sponsors at a later date.

4th NATIONAL YOUTH ART AWARD
POSTER COMPETITION
PRIZES
The winning arts (or artists, if two or more work together to make the design) will
receive the Gordon Harris prize of $200. The artwork will be used as a basis for the
poster and other advertising for the 2015 National Youth Art Award show.
Guidelines
1 All students at your secondary school are eligible (excepting adult students)
2 All entries must be received by the Waikato Society of Art by 24th April 2015
3 All entries to be sent to WSA by email. Entry forms and high quality photographs of
the art to be sent as attachments. Please identify the name of the artist on both
attachments
4 The winning artist and school will be notified by 1st May 2015
5 One, Two or a group of students may work on a poster design
6 The poster artwork may be any size and in any media the artist wishes. WSA will not
need the original artwork. The high quality photograph of the winning design will be
used as a basis for the advertising material.
The National Youth Art Award
In August the fourth award show will be staged at ArtsPost Hamilton. This award is
open to all young artists in New Zealand from the age of 15 to 27. There are five
prizes: the grand prize of $2000, and smaller prizes for 2d work, 3D work, digital work
and best young Waikato artist between the age of 15 and 18. There will also be a
people’s choice award. Decided at the end of the exhibition
Paintings, installations, recycled, photographs, almost anything goes.
