June 6, 1855 was an important date for First Christian Church in Leavenworth.
160 years ago we became a church. Today we have the opportunity to give to the
Pentecost offering. This special-day offering provides support for new churches. Since
2001 Disciples have started 830 new churches. These churches reach more than
50,000 people. Pentecost offering helps with planter training, coaching, special project
grants and additional services to support the New Church Ministry of the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ). Half of the money collected through the Pentecost
Offering remains in the region from which it originates, usually going directly to new
church plants. We will receive our Pentecost offerings this week and next.
