Looking for an interesting evening for you and your friends?
Join us for a guided walk around some of
the hidden gems and delights of Leeds followed by a
delicious buffet supper with wine.
In the company of an expert, knowledgeable guide provided
by Leeds Civic Trust our walks are welcoming
memorable, and informative.
Starting at 7 pm from Wharf Street, each walk will take approximately
1½ hours. A leisurely supper follows, adding an enjoyable, sociable end to your evening. Dates planned are:

Leeds Civic Trust’s Supper Walks offer the opportunity to see Leeds City Centre in a new light. The Trust’s expert guides will
introduce walkers not only to the fascinating history of the city centre but also talk about recent developments and exciting changes
which are in the pipeline. - Our Supper Walks provide you with an enjoyable and sociable evening with supper in the interesting
surroundings of Leeds Civic Trust’s Wharf Street Headquarters. Supper Walks are also extremely popular with clubs and societies — If

Medieval Leeds
Explore the medieval streets of Leeds including Kirkgate and Briggate with their historic yards. Visit
the sites of the medieval manor house and corn mill and discover the old town boundaries.
Georgian Leeds
Discover Leeds at the time of the gentlemen woollen merchants, when the town was the woollen
cloth centre of the West Riding. Visit the famous cloth halls, merchant houses of Park Square and
Georgian chapels and churches.
Victorian & Edwardian
Leeds
Find out about Leeds’ great Victorian and Edwardian buildings and streets, take in the Corn
Exchange, Boar Lane, Park Row, the Town Hall, Municipal Buildings, the Civic Theatre, the cities
finest Victorian Arcades and the City Market.
Holbeck Urban Village:
Cradle of the Industrial
Revolution
This walk shows you the wonderful industrial heritage of Holbeck, the famous Egyptian Temple Mill,
the Italianate Tower Works, and Matthew Murray’s Round Foundry – and its recent imaginative
transformation into an ‘urban village’.
Sites of the Silver
Screen
A walk to mark the forgotten cinemas of Leeds. City cinemas tended to be grand, even opulent, but
in many instances a mere shadow is all that remains. Join us on a collaborative walk, to explore
what is left of the old Picture Palaces and to tease out knowledge and memory from participants,
whilst considering the shape of cinema as we knew it.
Leeds Waterfront
The regeneration of the city centre riverside and the Calls is one of the most astonishing
achievements of the last two decades. This walk introduces you to the regenerated warehouses
and docks, the splendid new bridges, the new flats, offices, restaurants and visitor attractions.
Five Decades - Five
Arcades
This walk explores the history and development of the Merrion Centre, The Light, St John’s Centre,
Trinity Leeds and the Victorian Quarter - five arcade-like shopping centres which have helped
create ‘The Knightsbridge of the North’. This brand new walk celebrates 5 decades of change in
Leeds since Leeds Civic Trust was founded in 1965.
