Job Corps’ Mission To attract young adults, teach them relevant skills needed to become employable and productive citizens, and help prepare them for success in life by securing meaningful jobs, opportunities for further education, or placement in the military. Results Currently 59% (16,118 students) of those who entered without a diploma or equivalent in PY13 received a high school diploma or its equivalent. That breaks down to: - 38.2% (10,438) obtained a HS Diploma ; and - 20.8% (5,680) obtained a HSE. Life on Center Job Corps provides students with: • Drug- and violence-free environment (zero tolerance) • Housing and dining services • Basic health and wellness services • Biweekly living allowance • Transition services, including job placement assistance Life on Center • Each center offers recreational and leisuretime opportunities for students. • Students participate in community service and internships with local employers as part of their training.
