Job Corps Overview
• Job Corps is the nation’s largest career
technical training and education program
for low-income young people ages 16
through 24.
• Job Corps is free to young people who
qualify.
• Federally funded through the Department of
Labor.
Job Corps’ Mission
To attract young adults, teach them relevant
skills needed to become employable and
productive citizens, and help prepare them for
success in life by securing meaningful jobs,
opportunities for further education, or
placement in the military.
Our Students
• Ages 16 through 24.
• From an economically disadvantaged
background (below the poverty level).
• A U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal resident,
or permanent resident alien willing to sign a
Zero Tolerance contract and committed to
the opportunities Job Corps provides.

Results
Currently 59% (16,118 students) of those who
entered without a diploma or equivalent in PY13
received a high school diploma or its equivalent.
That breaks down to:
- 38.2% (10,438) obtained a HS Diploma ; and
- 20.8% (5,680) obtained a HSE.
