Website Updates
From the beginning of the year, Margaret Redding has been updating
and improving the foodbank website. The new design is cleaner,
more organised, and even more accessible. However, the ‘News and
Events’ page remains outdated. If you have any exciting news, or
events you would like to see on the website, we would greatly
appreciate you sending them into [email protected]
(Margaret Redding), preferably with pictures, so that we can keep our
news section as updated as our website!

Citizens Advice Bureau
The Citizens Advice Bureau has teamed up with
foodbanks in Stevenage, Hitchin, and Letchworth
in order to offer expert help to those who find it
hard
to
make
it
to
their
offices.
The CAB’s Catherine Bennett said: “We are
committed to ensuring we can help individuals
and families to rebuild their own personal
situations, whether this is through advice on
money, debt, legal, health or housing issues.
Advisor Karen Hoy will be visiting foodbanks
each week to give confidential advice and
support to those who need it.

Christians Against Poverty Debt
Help
CAP offers help for those in debt. This can be a
very helpful service for those in debt using our
foodbanks, and they give equal care to anyone,
regardless of race, nationality, religion, age,
gender, marital status, sexual orientation or
disability.
It is a free service, and is well
respected by creditors. There is now a local
service at the Hitchin Christian Centre.

NHC Green Week
On the week beginning Monday 9th February, the students of North Herts College got involved with the
foodbank project as part of their Green Week. The Level 1 IT, Health and Social Care and Childhood
Studies students created posters that would raise awareness for the foodbank projects, focusing on the
Letchworth branch. They also created a recipe book that contained cheap, easy to make meals, and a
booklet outlining how the foodbanks worked and how to get a voucher. Their enthusiasm and
eagerness to help was staggering, as were the final products. We are grateful to all the students that
took part for their genuine interest in our project!
