Google Email Migration to Microsoft Exchange 2013 in AWS Cloud

Below is a reference Microsoft Exchange 2013 migration that our AWS engineers have completed.

Migration of 1250 User mailboxes from Google Apps Email to Microsoft Exchange 2013
No interruption to email service during migration

Synchronization of all email, calendars, contacts, etc. from source Google mailboxes to
destination Microsoft mailboxes using BitTitan MigrationWiz

High-Level Critical Steps:
1. Set up, test, and prepare Exchange systems in AWS for use.
2. Notify users of new spam management service being implemented.
3. Set up AppRiver SecureTide spam service, including setting up Google Apps destination email
servers.
4. Change DNS MX records for all inbound and outbound email to route through AppRiver
SecureTide for Google Apps email.
5. Ensure AppRiver spam service is working correctly.
6. Create user mailboxes in Exchange.
7. Configure dual-delivery and relay of email in Google Apps to Microsoft Exchange system.
8. Perform synchronization of mailboxes using BitTitan MigrationWiz.
9. Notify users of planned email changes.
10. On specified date, change AppRiver destination mail email servers to Exchange.
11. Decommission Google Apps mailboxes and discontinue service after specified period of time.
