HELP US PROVIDE YOU WITH THE BEST PROGRAM POSSIBLE!
Registration Guidelines
Registrations are accepted in person at the Senior Center, by mail, by phone with credit card payment, or online
at LisleParkDistrict.org.
Payment due upon registration.
Check your receipts! Confirm your program/trip, date, times, locations, meal choices, etc. by verifying your
receipt. Receipts may be sent via email, USPS (50¢ fee), or pick-up in person.
“Register by” dates are necessary so that we can meet the deadlines given to us by various venues and vendors.
Of course, if the “register by” date has passed, don’t hesitate to call 630-969-0992 to check the status, as we
frequently have cancellations resulting in open seats.
Emergency contact cards are available at our office if you wish to provide us with that information.
Home pick-ups are available to Lisle and Cameo residents for a $5 fee. Select this option during registration.
Refund policy - If the Lisle Park District cancels a trip, a full refund will be credited to your park district account. If
you cancel, giving at least two business days notice and the space can be resold, a full credit less a $2 service charge
will be applied to your household Lisle Park District account; however, we cannot guarantee a resale. If you should
prefer a refund to your charge card or receive a check, just let us know.
Trip Guidelines
When joining us on one of our bus trips, please park your vehicle towards the middle of the parking lot, rather than
up close to the entrance. This gives you easy exit upon our return and frees up the front spots for those patrons
visiting the center throughout the day. Also, refrain from parking in lots not owned by the Lisle Park District.
Thank you for your consideration!
Review your receipt – Receipts are important! Be sure to verify all the information that is contained on the
receipt, and contact us immediately with any changes or discrepancies.
Trips must depart promptly! Please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to departure to allow for adequate time for
check-in and bus loading.
Limit the use of perfumes or colognes when traveling with us or participating in park district events to be
sensitive to those who may have significant allergies.
No dairy items are allowed on bus trips.
All trips are via the Lisle Park District bus unless a motorcoach is specifically mentioned in the trip description.
All trips depart from the Senior Center unless a different location is specifically mentioned in the description.
WALKING GUIDE FOR TRIPS

ART INSIGHTS: THE IMPRESSIONISTS
& BEYOND
Lisle Recreation Center, Multipurpose Room 3
Impressionism was an avant-garde art movement
in France in the late 19th century. This presentation
focuses on how these artists broke with tradition by
experimenting with the transient effect of light and
color by painting in open air. From Monet and Renoir
to Van Gogh and Gauguin, this program examines some
of the most renowned artists of all time. This free
program is generously funded by the Hulda B. and
Maurice L. Rothschild Foundation.

Des Plaines & Rosemont, IL
Chicago, IL
You’ll have 4 hours to choose if you want to spend all
your time at one of the venues or spend a couple hours
at each! The Fashion Outlets of Chicago is the premiere
outlet mall in Illinois. With over 150 outlet stores, a very
nice food court, 2 restaurants, and public art scattered
throughout, this indoor mall is a fun place to visit
whether you are shopping or just looking. Rivers Casino
is just down the road, and with over 1,000 slots and
almost 50 table games, you’re sure to have a good time.
Rivers has several dining outlets, including the Canopy
Buffet. Our bus will drop off at the outlet mall and at the
casino – spend 2 hours at each place or 4 hours at one.
Fee includes bus transportation.
A beautiful flower show takes place within the
magnificent historic State Street store. Master gardeners
create a lush display within the event center on the 9th
floor that you won’t want to miss. At the time of print,
this year’s theme had not yet been revealed – last year it
was The Secret Garden. Prior to visiting the flower show
we will have lunch in the lovely Walnut Room, which
will have its own beautiful floral display. You’ll have your
choice of 1) Peach Nest – their famous chicken salad
in a nest of shoestring potatoes with peaches, grapes,
strawberries and a trio of breads, or 2) Mrs. Haring’s
Famous Chicken Pot Pie. Both include beverage and a
slice of Frango Mint Pie for dessert. Prior to our Macy’s
visit we will have a behind-the-scenes tour of the
fabulous Oriental Theatre. The theatre opened in 1926
as a movie palace and features architecture inspired
by India. You will also learn about the cutting edge
technology that makes the theatre home of complex
theatrical productions, such as Wicked, which played
for 3 ½ years there. Fee includes transportation, theatre

DISCOVER IL: ELMHURST
UNNECESSARY FARCE
Elmhurst, IL
Pheasant Run, St. Charles, IL
There are treasures in our own backyard waiting for
us to discover! Did you know the Elmhurst College Art
Collection is world renowned? It’s an extraordinary
collection of works by Chicago Imagist & Abstractionist
artists working in Chicago between about 1950 and the
present. The collection displays a broad range of artistic
ideas and influences, from Ed Paschke’s psychedelic
colors to Roger Brown’s dreamlike silhouettes, it
represents what art critic James Yood called “the best
single overview of art from 1966 to 1985 in any public
institution.” In addition, Elmhurst has a lovely historical
museum with exhibits highlighting immigration to
and development of the area, as well as the Lizzadro
Museum of Lapidary Art. We will have short visits at all
three of these Elmhurst ‘gems’ (pun intended!). Lunch
will be at La Brigade restaurant, a restaurant run by
the culinary students of York High School. The menu
depends upon the curriculum at that time. Fee includes
transportation, lunch, museum admissions & tours.
Two cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go! In a cheap motel
room, an embezzling mayor is supposed to meet with
his female accountant, while in the room next-door, two
undercover cops wait to catch the meeting on videotape.
But there’s some confusion as to who’s in which room,
who’s being videotaped, who’s taken the money, who’s
hired a hit man, and why the accountant keeps taking
off her clothes. Pants will be falling down, doors will be
slamming, identities will be mistaken, and laughs will
be flowing in this hilarious, award-winning farce. Prior
to the performance, we’ll have lunch in the dining room
where you’ll have your choice of 1) Yankee pot roast
with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted carrots & cabernet
pan sauce, or 2) chicken primavera with linguini, seared
summer vegetables & roasted garlic sauce, or 3) roasted
vegetables with ziti pasta. All are served with crème of
asparagus soup, beverage and carrot cake. Fee includes

Winner of the 2011 Tchaikovsky International Piano

grace and poetic insight” (The New York Times). In this
appearance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, he

work with Shostakovich’s most ferocious symphony,
a 1943 work that reflects WWII in its relentless thirdmovement scherzo, punctuated with breathtaking

AN EVENING WITH C.S. LEWIS
Metropolis Performing Arts Center &
Big Shot Piano Lounge, Arlington Heights, IL
C.S. Lewis, the famous British author, is hosting a group of
American writers at his home near Oxford and they are about
to be treated to his compelling fireside manner, the engaging
warmth of his humor and the tender story of a man who
found romance in his fifties. As one of the most influential
thinkers of his day, he recalls the people & events that served
to inspire his thoughts & shape his life. With an Off Broadway

giant of the 20th century. Join British actor David Payne in
his remarkable portrayal of the highly revered author who
gave us the Narnia Chronicles. After the performance, we’ll

LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE
Mayslake Estate & Buca di Beppo, Oak Brook, IL
A play for, by & about women: their lives, memories, mothers
and clothes. From first bras to prom dresses to that little
black dress, this insightful comedy by Nora & Delia Ephron
celebrates the deep and abiding love/hate relationship
women have with their wardrobes. Prior to the performance
we will have lunch at Buca di Beppo, where we’ll have a
family-style luncheon of homemade bread, salad, rigatoni
with vodka sauce, chicken san remo, artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes and green peas tossed with imported Italian
penne pasta in a white wine cream sauce, and cannoli for
dessert. Fee includes transportation, lunch and performance.
VERA BRADLEY OVERNIGHT
Fort Wayne, IN
Vera Bradley bags and accessories are all the rage for females
of every age. Whether it’s their bright, cheery prints, functional
designs, versatility or lightweight feel, we just love them and
can’t get enough! What could be more fun than a Vera girls
getaway for two fun-filled days?! We are going to the annual
Vera Bradley Sale, held at the Ft. Wayne Coliseum, where you
will find a huge assortment of retired and overstock patterns
and products at discount prices. Bring your gift list to take
advantage of this great sale. We’ll receive VIP treatment with
special entry tickets entitling us to bypass the line, have a
separate entrance and check-out area, and a lovely hospitality
room to relax in. After the sale, we’ll head over to our rooms
at the full-service Hotel Fort Wayne, just minutes from the
Coliseum. At the hotel, we’ll have free time to share our finds,
have dinner at the Red River Steakhouse or nearby restaurant,
relax in the pool or have a drink in the lounge. On our way
to the sale we’ll be stopping at the Strongbow Inn for their
fabulous cinnamon rolls and coffee. The trip continues to be
sweet the following day when we tour DeBrand Chocolates,
founded in Fort Wayne in 1987. Their chocolates and shoppes
are second to none in taste, presentation and décor. Next on
the itinerary is lunch in South Bend at Tippecanoe Place, a
beautiful mansion built by Clem Studebaker in the late 1880s.
We’ll visit the National Studebaker Museum, with exhibits
including four Presidential carriages, the iconic Bonnie-Doon
Drive In, the Studebaker design center and much more. We’ll
also visit Capshaholm, the 100+ year old Romanesque Queen
Anne style home of industrialist J.D. Oliver. Fee includes
transportation, double-occupancy hotel room, Vera Bradley
special admission ticket, breakfast, Tippecanoe lunch,
