Charity219279 NEWSLETTER – SPRING 2015 Hello everyone, welcome to the Spring 2015 Newsletter. Unfortunately I´ll have to start with a correction regarding donations to the Branch. I´d been looking into the rules regarding a Public Utility Status (Gemeinnützigkeit) and found out that the procedure is extremely complicated and leaves those concerned in a position of liability should anything go wrong. In order that no-one gets into difficulties with the finance authorities we have decided to discontinue our efforts to obtain this status. I apologize for any annoyance caused. New Bank Account Details. With immediate effect the Branch now has a new Bank Account. The details are:- Sparkasse Osnabrück Konto-Nr. 1551580259 IBAN:- DE2105 1551 5802 8 2655 059 BIC:- NOLADE22XXX The old Bank Account no longer exists so, to avoid any complications, please make a note of the new details. Spring Cleaning We intend to give the Branch its annual Spring Clean-up on Saturday 28th March and, of course, are looking for volunteers! If you fancy dusting, washing, scrubbing or just generally giving a hand, then come along at 09:00 hrs. Refreshments will be available and lunch will be served after completion of work. one and all to allow non-members onto the premises in order that these may enjoy a cheap evening whilst RBL members have paid for this privilege through their Annual Affiliation Fees. Members who continuously bring in guests should encourage these to become members. In any case, it is important that guests are signed in by their host-members. Sunday Lunches. Sundays in the Branch are becoming more popular so it´s been decided to lay on cooked lunches. If you wish to have a nice pubatmosphere lunch in the Branch at a very moderate price see Liz. If you wish to come as a group please book in advance by the Saturday prior to the day. Come along and enjoy a pleasant afternoon among friends. Easter Lunch. Unfortunately, due to holidays, personal commitments etc, leading up to a lack of personnel, there will be no Easter Lunch laid on this year. We apologize for what must be a rather disappointing decision for most of you. Irish Night. Our ever-popular Irish Night to the tunes of the Kilkenny Band and Guest Musicians will be celebrated on 21st March. €15 entrance fee is money well spent for what will be an extremely enjoyable evening with typical irish cuisine so come along and let your leprachaun loose! State Pension Statement. I´ve placed an information leaflet on the notice board for those members slowly but surely reaching their retirement age. The info is not comprehensive but can also be “googled”. It is recommended that applications be submitted in time to avoid any delay of payment. If you have any problems come and see me (Melvin). This information is merely a statement of fact and should not be observed as any kind of professional information from me. Fire Precautions/Safety. Allow me to draw your attention to the positions of the fire extinguishers within the Branch. There are three in all; one is situated behind the bar, one in the proximity of the toilets and one immediately by the new glass information stand in the functions room (to the left as you go in). If you wish, you can familiarize yourself with the use of them (without settin’ ‘em off, of course!) Use/Misuse of the Branch Facilities. Once again members are reminded that the Branch Facilities are mainly meant for branch members who have duly paid their Annual Subscriptions. It is unfair to Festival of Remembrance - London 2015. Anyone wishing to attend the Festival of Remembrance 2015 should check the notice board and contact Keith Orton be e-mail only on info@kk-billard,de Smoking/Non-Smoking Ballot. From Fri 13th to th Mon 30 of March you can vote in the Branch whether or not smoking should be allowed in the premises at all. You´ll need to come in and put your name and choice on the voting paper. Those who can´t make it can ´phone in and have their vote registered. To be able to vote you must be a paid-up member. Confidentiality is guaranteed. Come along and vote; it´s your Branch and you do have a say in the running of the place. (Just to influence you a bit, we´ve just re-decorated the Bar-room!). We´re just in the act of renovating the premises; the Bar-room is almost done and work will be continuing over the next couple of weeks in the Functions Room etc. Any discomfort caused is regretted but necessary because it´s being done in our own free time, taking into account that we don´t always have the time! The attendance at last year´s Annual Dinner proved to be a bit of a disappointment as does the attendance at some of the other functions that are organized in the Branch.
