What sort of hair is suitable?
KS Brazilian Keratin can be used and is effective on all kinds of
hair - even damaged hair. Straightening with these treatments
coats the hair and replenishes its condition without changing
or damaging its molecular structure.

Can you do this treatment on hair extensions?
Yes. As always with extensions, care should be taken when flat
ironing: the seam where extensions are joined to natural hair
should not be flat ironed.
How long does the treatment take?
Depending on the volume of hair, the treatment can take
anywhere from 1 to 3 hours to complete. First, the hair
cuticle must be prepared, using an appropriate pre-treatment
shampoo such as Deep Cleanse to strip away impurities.
After application of the treatment itself, the hair is blown
dry and infused with a 450 degree flat iron - trapping
the moisture, hydrating the hair and creating a smooth,
glossy finish.
Should I use any particular shampoo/conditioner?
The straightening and conditioning effects of KS Brazilian
Keratin products wont last as long if your client doesn’t use a
shampoo and conditioner that work with the treatment, rather
than against it. KS shampoos and conditioner are specifically
formulated to lengthen the treatments effectiveness. Among
other things, they are free of sodium chloride - a chemical that
reacts with keratin and can strip it out of the hair prematurely.
How many clients to each bottle?
One litre of KS Brazilian Keratin Treatment generally yields
fifteen to twenty applications. There is some fluctuation in the
number of treatments due to several factors, the greatest of
which is the volume of any clients hair; the amount of formula
required for a client with long hair might be twice as much as
that needed for a client with short hair. Another major factor
is the skill and experience of the stylist. Careful application
means using the amount of formula that is ‘just right’. Using
too much will result in product that must be removed as excess
and waste.

When can you wash your hair?
Clients should avoid washing or binding their hair for
about 2/3 days after the treatment. This helps to prolong
the effects of the product and avoid any unwanted kinks
or bends.
How often can you do keratin smooth treatments?
As often as you like - its conditioning treatment. If maximum
volume reduction is sought, multiple treatments can have a
cumulative effect. Many clients also request the service after
a hair colouring or other harsh process in order to bring the
hair back to its healthy state.

KS Chocolate and Strawberry share similar
formulations and results, however they differ in
aroma. Chocolate is based upon organic Theobroma
Cocoa, while Strawberry is infused with Strawberry

conditioning and volume-reduction that KS Brazilian
Treatment products are famous for.
KS GOLD
KS Gold is the highest quality Brazilian Keratin
product available. Gold uses 24-karat gold particles
as a potent catalyst to the process, producing a
lasting level of conditioning and brilliance that no
other product can match. There are now countless
keratin brands that claim to contain ‘gold nanoparticles’, but simply adding minute amounts of gold
to a formula will not increase a products efficiency.
Only our manufacturer has the advanced technical
facilities required to properly process gold into a
state in which it can effectively synthesize with the
rest of the formula.

Preserves the keratin treatment to ensure long

KS Conditioners
Preserve the treatment whilst smoothing the
cuticle down. Conditioner moisturises the hair
using a special blend of complex proteins to
protect and prolong the results of a KS Brazilian
Treatment. KS Conditioner contains silicon nanoparticles, which create a protective film to help
repel every day environmental stress.

Instructions
Instructions for use of Keratin Smooth:
1. Wash clients hair with clarifying shampoo & rinse
well (for virgin hair leave to soak for 10 minutes to
open cuticles).
2. Dry hair by 80% with medium heat, leave slightly
damp.
3. Divide hair into sections, apply with small brush
half inch away from roots, section by section,
massage and comb through, removing excess
product.
4. Blow dry on medium heat (as too much heat will
cause smoke effect).
5. Complete the treatment with ceramic irons to seal
the hair, go through each small section 10 times
making the last 2 slower. (small sections create
better results).
6. Advise your client to only wash hair 2/3 days after
treatment, during which time they should avoid
ponytails and clips etc. If hair becomes damp
before 2/3 days, blow dry and flat iron.
TIPS:
1. Always use separate tint bowls and brushes
2. Always use shampoo with NO sodium chloride
3. Avoid treatment if pregnant or breast feeding
4. Treatment should be carried out in a well
ventilated room
