Mai 2015
The Control public awareness campaign for responsible gambling that ran from January
through March 2014 won two awards: one in the Best use of outdoor advertising category
and a second for the Best use of mixed media of more than $250,000.
This campaign was produced by Carat Canada stood out thanks to its surprising and novel
deployment.

2015 Créa Awards
April 2015
The Créativité hors média award annually honours an advertisement or campaign
developed for use on free or non-existent media (interactive installations or screenings,
gaming consoles, etc.), and whose media plan brings added value in terms of creativity.
This award was given to Les rendez-vous Loto-Québec for their promotional video clips
showcasing the Festival international Contes en Îles, in the Îles-de-la-Madeleine region, and
for their installation at Espace La Fontaine, the restaurant at Montréal’s Parc La Fontaine, in
2014.

National Council on Problem Gambling Award

The U.S.-based National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) has recognized
Loto-Québec's agameshouldremainagame.com web site as the most efficient among North
American sites with regard to raising public awareness about problem gambling and various
initiatives promoting healthy gaming habits.
The NCPG is itself an organization recognized for its U.S. programs that draw attention to
problem gambling and works to establish responsible gaming practices for legal gaming
operators, conducts research on pathological gambling, carries out prevention activities and
provides assistance to pathological gamblers and their families.

The “It’s all up to chance” campaign produced by the Carat agency on behalf of the Office of
the Vice President for Responsible Gaming first launched in March 2013 was recognized for
the effectiveness of its message and visuals. The judging panel for the best use of visuals
category emphasized the creativity of posters displayed in downtown Montréal office
building elevators, on which the message read “Some machines we control,” with an arrow
pointing to elevator buttons. Once on the elevator, passengers were presented with an ad
installed on the inside of the doors depicting a video lottery terminal and the following
message: “Others we cannot control.”
The public awareness campaign was designed to correct misconceptions people hold,
particularly slot machine and video lottery terminal players, about gambling and especially
the role chance plays in game outcomes.

Produced by Frame Studio, the Alice animation depicting a whole world of events and
colours, fun and surprises for Les rendez-vous Loto-Québec, won the grand prize in the
Artisans – Animation category.
Créa’s ninth annual awards ceremony honouring the most creative Québec ads was held

The International Guild of Sponsors, an organization that brings together sponsorship
professionals from around the world, has bestowed upon Loto-Québec the Highest
PerforMind Achiever award for the second consecutive year (2013 and 2014). This honour
recognizes across-category sponsorship performance. The Guild seeks to spotlight work by
corporations who promote health, growth and art in sponsorships, within their local market
and internationally.

The very first communications program intended for the general public launched by the
Office of the Vice President for Responsible Gambling garnered much attention at the 2013
North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL). Loto Québec took
home the first Batchy awards for its TV and printed campaign There are machines you can
control. And machines you can't control, aired in the spring of 2013.
The quality of Loto-Québec’s in-house newsletter, En jeux, was recognized with a finalist
award in the Corporate Communications category.

Bleublancrouge’s Les rendez-vous.tv campaign was awarded a distinction in the Television
category. For the summer 2011 season, sponsors became cultural content broadcasters
thanks to Les rendez-vous.tv TV capsules aired three times a day on TVA and online on
Canoë. Announcers from all over Québec presented live capsules of events in their region.
In all, 150 clips were produced, each reaching an average of 570,000 viewers.

Loto-Québec’s new shopping centre kiosks were awarded a Silver prize by the Conseil
international des centres commerciaux (ICSC) in the Design – Retail, Kiosk category. Designed
from the sales clerk’s point of view, i.e. from the interior and somewhat like an airplane pilot’s
seat, the new kiosks have a more modern look that is both simple and original.

The national Marketing Awards competition awarded a SILVER prize to Loto-Québec for
two Lotto 6/49 television ads from the Careful what you promise campaign. The ads,
entitled Wedding and Pebbles, won in the Television Campaign category. The awardwinning ads were developed by the Sid Lee agency and produced by Nicolas Monette from
401 Productions.

The ad campaign entitled Careful what you promise, created by Sid Lee to support the
launch of the new Lotto 6/49 offering guaranteed prizes, took the grand prize in the Film –
TV Ad category. In the same campaign, the Pebbles message also won the grand prize in
the TV Ad – Product category, making it the third consecutive year for Loto-Québec to
garner top honours in that category.
The 60-second ad created by lg2 showing a Lotto Max winner at the heart of Times Square
in New York to surprise his wife also won a prize in the TV Ad – Product category.

Mise-o-jeu’s Lock-out campaign received a finalist award in the under $25,000 TV ads
segment.
Sprinto was also recognized with a finalist award in the Best New Online Games category.

The ad campaign created by ad agency lg2 for the $100 million Extravaganza scratch ticket
took the grand prize in the TV Ad – Product category, in addition to a prize in the Off-TV –
Single Item category (for the long version of a hip-hop video parody, available on the
Internet) and the grand prize in the Original Music category. The music for the ad was
produced by Studios Apollo.
To promote the Sprinto lottery, a web campaign focusing on gaming experience and the
excitement of horse racing was designed by lg2, winning a prize in the online ad category.
Loto-Québec was the first Canadian lottery corporation to offer a lottery product inspired
from the pan-Canadian Lotto Max to be sold exclusively in Québec. The ad campaign for
Québec Max, produced by Sid Lee, focused on the possibility of creating home-grown
millionaires. That ad took the prize in the outdoor or transit ad campaign category.

The ad offensive orchestrated by Carat (in association with lg2) highlighting the launch of
the new Sprinto instant game was rewarded in the Display category for its production in the
Berri-UQAM metro station.

Station turnstiles were dressed up as starting gates for a horse race, placing metro users in
racing lanes headed for the finish line! The concept of the finish line extended to metro
platforms.

2012 Créa Award

The TV ad designed by Sid Lee to announce the first $100,000 per year for life bonus prize
offered by Lotto 6/49 won the grand prize in the TV Ad – Product category.
The ad campaign for the Mots cachés instant lottery, dreamed up by the Saint Jacques
Vallée Young & Rubicam agency, also caught the selection panel’s attention. The
innovative sectional display concept in the McGill metro station garnered three awards for
Loto Québec: a Media Creativity prize and two Indoor Display prizes (Single Item and
Campaign). Thanks to the use of distorted perspectives, the puzzle pieces of the Mots
cachés logo came together when the viewer stood at a specific location on the platform.

The Mots cachés scratch ticket also won the grand prize in the Display category. MEC
Montréal’s multimedia campaign design for Mise-o-jeu was awarded the grand prize in the
Over $250,000 Mixed-Media category with the promotion of media as a real way to bet and
brand presence in social media, particularly Forum Mise-o-jeu.

Loto-Québec on three awards, including “Best of the Batch” for its Sunrise TV ad promoting
the Lotto Max lottery. Created by the agency Bos, that same Lotto Max TV ad was also
recognized in the “Best Use of Cinematography” category. In the “Best use of Humor”
category, the Lotto Poker English language TV ad was awarded top prize. Designed by
Montréal agency Sid Lee, this TV ad was also recognized in the “Daily Games” category.

Two agencies mandated by Loto-Québec were honoured for ad creation. BOS received a
Créa Award in the Television – Services, Individual Ad category with an ad for the
100 millions fortune lottery. Sid Lee received two Créa Awards for the Lotto 6/49 lottery, one
in the Television – Services, Individual Ad category for an ad from the campaign "Défi –
Pour un million de dollars, fais-tu ça?" ["Challenge – For a million dollars, would you do
that?"], and the other in the Outdoor Display, Ad category for an ad from the campaign
"Vivez en dessous de vos moyens" ["Live within your means"].

Published in the Montréal edition of the Metro daily on October 5, 2006, an ad with the
theme "It's hockey time!" for Loto-Québec's Mise-o-jeu and Pronostik products won third
place in the Metro Global Print Awards, an international competition that honours the most
creative advertising campaign appearing in a Metro daily.

Two advertising agencies received awards for ads created for Loto-Québec. Diesel was
awarded a Grand Prix Crea in the "Television - Services, Individual Ad" category for two
advertisements from the "Always be nice to the people who play Lotto 6/49 ad" campaign.
BOS also won a Grand Prix Crea in the "Radio, Individual Ad" category for a Super 7
advertisement.

GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN
2012
During the 2012 GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN, the Casino won an Espace public prize in the
Hotel category for its Level 5 restaurant area design. Moureaux Hauspy + Associés and
Blazysgérard architects and designers carried out the project, setting themselves apart from
the 300 projects submitted, thanks to their great creativity. The annual pan-Québec contest
highlights the best in architecture as well as interior and industrial design.
The selection panel especially liked the project's Expo 67 flavour. The new space was
