It is designed for high school students who are interested in gaining basic athletic training knowledge and skills. You will stay on campus and all meals are provided. TEST DATE June 13,2015 DEADLINE May 8 LATE REGIS. May 9-22 *************************************** Are you interested in one of the design fields but don't really know which one or what it entails? UMKC is sponsoring a This is a four-day camp that teaches girls ages 6 12 sixteen different sports and fitness activities. They need high school age girls to serve as counselors. The older girls will lead the campers through the curriculum, provide assistance to the coaches teaching the sports and act as mentors to the campers and junior counselors. Camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm M-TH. High school girls can earn 80 hours of community service for working both sessions. DESIGN DISCOVERY PROGRAM Monday, June 8 - Thursday June 11 UMKC Katz Hall 5005 Rockhill RD This is a four-day program for prospective students interested in the design professions of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Architecture/Product Design or Urban Planning/ Design. Enrollment for this has already begun. The first session is June 8-11 at Avila University and the second session is June 29-July2 at UMKC. There is mandatory training on Friday, June 5. Bronco Connection Lee's Summit North Guidance Office ATTENTION 9-11 GRADERS 2015-2016!!! The West Central Missouri Area Health Education Center is an organization that is dedicated to providing career exploration and preparation for high school students interested in going into the healthcare field. AHEC is now excepting applications for our 2015-16 AHEC Career Enhancement Scholars program (ACES.) Scholarships 3 JUNE Centerpoint Medical Center Medical Staff Scholarship • applicants must be a dependent of an employee of Centerpoint Medical Center. • planning to enter the field of study related to human healthcare, ie. nursing, pharmacy, radiology, etc. • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.50 • provide a list community service activities • a phone or personal interview may be required to demonstrate communication skills. Scholarship amount: $1,000 Mrs. Hutsell has paper applications in her office. ACES is a year-long program that provides high school students with: One-on-one career planning Hands-on exploration activities Health career and college preparation Mentoring and networking opportunities Leadership development Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a freshman, sophomore or junior starting Fall 2015, provide a letter of recommendation, and a personal statement indicating their STRONG interest in pursuing a career in the health field. ACES students will meet on Saturdays throughout the year and must be able to commit to attending most of these workshops. The cost to participate is minimal and students that qualify for free/reduced lunch will also be able to participate at a reduced rate. Deadline: June 1, 2015 Blue Springs Elkettes Club Scholarship These scholarships are open to graduating seniors who plan to attend college in the fall. The award is worth $2400!!! Three letters of recommendation are required and a short essay about your goals for the future. ACT scores are also required as well as your official transcript.
