The conference focuses on teaching youth about leadership, higher education, and a healthy lifestyle. The conference takes place this year July 16-18, 2015. Mrs. Hutsell has more detailed information and application forms in her office. Lee's Summit North Guidance Office 3 Camp WIN - Attn Girls!!! This is a four-day camp that teaches girls ages 6 12 sixteen different sports and fitness activities. They need high school age girls to serve as counselors. The older girls will lead the campers through the curriculum, provide assistance to the coaches teaching the sports and act as mentors to the campers and junior counselors. Scholarships This is the place to look each week for scholarship opportunities that we receive in the Guidance Office! This symbol denotes a new scholarship for the current Camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm M-TH. High school week: girls can earn 80 hours of community service for working both sessions. The first session is June 8-11 at Avila University and the second session is June 29-July2 at UMKC. There is mandatory training on Friday, June 5. Mrs. Hutsell has the applications in her office. UMKC School of Medicine is a Missouri Bureau of EMS-approved provider of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic initial education. This summer, we are offering our first Summer EMT Academy program on the Hospital Hill campus. This is a ten week program that upon successful completion, allows the participant to test for national certification and state-licensure as an EMT. Students who complete the program, testing, and attain Missouri licensure can apply to the State of Kansas for legal recognition of their EMT credential. Glenda K. Dowler Memorial Scholarship M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Scholarship This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a REGISTERED NURSE. Applicant must be in the top 40% of their class or have a "C" grade average. • graduating senior •participated in school activities, such as sports as well as out-of-school activities such as work and community service. • must have a cumulative GPA BETWEEN 2.00 and 3.50. • financial data form is required Joseph J. Frank Scholarship Applicants must have attended a full session of Boys State or Girls State AND be the descendant of a veteran. Must use the scholarship money as a full time student in an accredited college or university. Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship Applicants must be either a member of the American Legion OR a DESCENDANT of a member of the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary or the Sons of The American Legion. Erman W. However, to receive the scholarship a student must NOT have joined ANOTHER fraternity. He will receive it as a non-fraternity member OR as a member of Delta Sigma Phi. Although Camp Cardiac's primary focus is on care and maintenance of the heart, it provides an excellent starting point for careers in all fields of medicine.
