Graduates will be eligible for State Testing and Certification and will be qualified for long term care, acute care or
personal care.
An application is required. To obtain an application, contact the ASUMH Health Science Coordinator, Sarah Smith,
at 870-508-6266.
Tb skin test (available at local Wal Mart medical clinic for $25.00) and 2 MMR immunizations are required
(available at the Health Department for $10.00).
*Payment in full, Tb skin test results, and 2 MMR records must be submitted at least one week prior to the class start
date. If not received at that time, the student will be taken off the class roster.
Registration fee is $923* per student (resident) $1371* per student (nonresident) $300* Golden Agers.
The book for the course is the 8th edition of Mosby’s Textbook for Nursing Assistants and is available at the ASUMH
bookstore (508-6114). New book is $73.95* plus tax in bookstore. Used book is $55.50* plus tax.
Gait Belt is $9.15* plus tax in bookstore.
Stethoscope and blood pressure cuff are $39.92* plus tax in the bookstore.
Wrist watch with second hand is required for class.
White scrub tops and navy scrub bottoms are required for clinical (includes white socks and white shoes).
Total cost is $1046.05* plus scrubs
