Queen Pageant Rules - Macoupin County Fair

Official Rules
Pageant Director: Hilary Garner, 217 / 502.2173
1). Contestant must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the State of Illinois, and a resident
of Macoupin County or attend school in Macoupin County.
2). Contestant must be a single female; never have been married or had a marriage
annulled. Contestants can never have been pregnant.
3). Contestant must be a minimum age of 16 years old by June 1 of the current year
and must not have reached her 22nd birthday by January 1 of the following year.
4). Contestant must not have been arrested, incarcerated, be on probation or have
been convicted of a felony. Contestants should not engage in any activities that are
characterized as dishonest, immoral or indecent.
5). Contestant must not be a reigning county fair queen, nor be a former county fair
queen [of any county].
6). Contestants and Fair Queen will not partake of alcoholic beverages or illegal
drugs while representing the Macoupin County Fair.
7). Contestants are required to have a “sponsor” who will pay a $30 entry fee.
8). Contestant agrees to appear on stage in a one-piece swimsuit, a formal and
business suit attire for judging and agrees to be personally interviewed by a panel of
judges.
9). Contestants must limit themselves to one hole/piercing in each ear lobe. All
other piercings must be removed or covered up. Any and all tattoos must be
covered.
10). Attendance at final rehearsal is mandatory.
11). Contestant agrees that the time, manner and method of conducting and judging
the contest shall be solely within the discretion of the officials and that the decision
of the judges shall be final.
12). The newly crowned Miss Macoupin County Fair will be chaperoned by the
pageant director or by an approved chaperone at any time she is representing the
Macoupin County Fair.
13). Miss Macoupin County Fair agrees to participate in functions during the year
upon request of the pageant director. Appearances must be approved, including
photography sessions as the role of Miss Macoupin County Fair.
14). The newly crowned Miss Macoupin County Fair may not compete for any other
title, nor be in any pageant during her reign, except for the Miss Illinois County Fair
Pageant.
15). Miss Macoupin County Fair must sign a contract with the Fair Association that
she will represent Macoupin County at the Illinois County Fair contest in January.
Failure to do so will mean relinquishing the title and winnings. The queen will
present at the fair each day/night for the remainder of fair week. She agrees to
appear in appropriate attire, crown and sash.
I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understand the Macoupin County Fair
Official Rules. I agree to comply with all rules of the Macoupin County Fair Queen
Pageant.
