RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR CONTESTANTS
1. Contestants shall be between 15 and 19 years old, single, and residents of Indian River County. Contestants under 18
must have a consent form signed by a parent/guardian.
2. Contestants must have a sponsor and said sponsor will be responsible for paying the $100 entry fee if application is
received by February 28th. $125.00 March 1-April 3
3. Contestants will be judged on stage presence, poise, community service, personality, and a personal interview. There
will be no swimsuit or talent competition.
4. A recent color photograph should be mailed or delivered to Main Street Vero Beach. (Photos may be used for publicity
purposes)
5. Attire for the contest is Dressy Evening or Cocktail Attire. Either long or short dresses may be worn.
6. The date, time and location of the photo shoot for the “Most Photogenic” prize will be announced as soon as details
are confirmed. Attendance is required at the event in order to be eligible for that award.
7. Mandatory interviews of each contestant by the judges will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at the
Heritage Center, 2140 14th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Contestants will be questioned individually by the judges as
part of their total score.
8. “Miss Hibiscus” will be crowned on Thursday evening, April 16, 2015 at the Heritage Center. The queen and her court will
preside over The Hibiscus Festival on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
9. Cash Prizes will include $500 for 1st place, $300 for 2nd place, $200 for 3rd place.
10. Applications are available at the Main Street Vero Beach office below or online @ www.HibiscusFestival.org, They
may be Emailed to [email protected] or mailed with payment to the Main Street Vero Beach address
below.
11. Contestants registered by February 28th, 2015 will be eligible for early entry gifts and radio interviews. A special
prize will be awarded to the girls from the school with the most contestants...Recruit a friend!
12. Application MUST BE RECEIVED by April 3, 2015.
