MAPPA 2015 Educational Conference & Annual Meeting P r o g r a m P r o p o s a l G u i de l i n e s MAPPA 2015 will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee September 19-23, 2015 The MAPPA 2015 Educational Conference once again will present a diverse set of presentations in the core areas of Facilities Management. We are also looking to add experiential learning to our traditional course offerings. We therefore invite you to submit a program proposal to present solutions for improvement, best practices or innovative approaches. Proposals are being accepted for 60-minute concurrent sessions. We welcome presentations from business partners who collaborate with facilities administrators. The conference audience includes facility officers and physical plant staff and administrators from the MAPPA region, along with business partners from nearly every facilities management field. Educational sessions should include 45 minutes of content with 10 to 15 minutes for Q&A. Presentations should be developed for groups of 25 - 75 people. The Big Ten and Friends Building Services Administrators Conference and the Big Ten and Friends Trainers Network will again convene with MAPPA 2015. Also offered are the highly acclaimed APPA Supervisor’s Toolkit and the APPA Facilities Professional Prep Course, which increases the networking exposure for all conference attendees. The MAPPA Professional Development Committee is seeking dynamic presentations in the core areas of Facilities Management for the educational community—colleges & universities, community colleges, and K-12. These core areas include General Administration, Maintenance & Operations, Energy & Utilities, and Planning, Design & Construction. Topic areas we are looking to address include the following, and where appropriate should encompass cost and impact analysis. • Facilities Performance Indicators/Results/Data Integration • Employee Engagement • Dashboard/Periodic Measures • Project Delivery Systems • Sustainability • Preventive/Predictive Maintenance • Contractor Relations • Leadership: Skills, Practices, Operations • Technology: Work Orders, Dispatching, Security, Fleet, Procurement, Building Services • Safety: Budget, Training, PPE • Emotional Intelligence in Leadership • Grounds Management Practices • Energy Procurement & Management • Training/Development/On-boarding • Risk Management/Workers Compensation • Emergency Preparedness/Continuity of Operations 1 MAPPA 2015 Educational Conference & Annual Meeting P r o g r a m P r o p o s a l G u i de l i n e s The Professional Development Committee will review proposals for: • Non-proprietary presentations • Overall quality • Appropriate content to conference • Presenter qualifications audience • Incorporation of experiential learning techniques Guidelines for Proposal Submission: • Completed Program Proposal Application • Program Abstract (150 word max) • References (minimum of 3) • Biography (100 word max) • Optional: 5-7 Slides if the presentation will qualify for professional certification Submission of a presentation does not guarantee participation in the educational program. Accepted proposals will not be assigned a specific speaking date and time until one month prior to the Educational Conference and Annual Meeting. Selected speakers must register for the conference and are responsible for all expenses incurred in conjunction with MAPPA 2015 including registration, housing and travel. All selected speakers will receive an official confirmation and should provide a formal acceptance.
