OFFERINGS Today – WM-Bokma/Budget
Next Week – Calvin Sem-Facing Your Future/Budget
Received Mar 1/15 – Church Ministries $4,123.61
WR Disaster Response $1,134.50
We gratefully acknowledge your support of our church, our denomination and various ministries!
How many “gods” do you put before God? “Idols” do not always take the shape of physical
things, things we can touch and feel. Those are easy to recognize. Many times they take the form
of things we cannot touch and are much harder to spot – pride, power, ego, comfort or health.
NEXT WEEK’S COLLECTION – Calvin Seminary, Facing Your Future
The Facing Your Future program is designed to assist in the process of students seeking to discern
their place within the church. The program will stretch and challenge students to reflect theologically on
many different modern issues concerning world affairs, the church and the individual Christian. They will
engage in group discussions, films, excursion experiences and worship. They will be challenged to think
about how God is calling them to serve Him as they transition into the next phase of their life and into the
future. Your prayerful and generous support will be appreciated.
CHURCH FAMILY – Prayer Notes
**We extend our sympathy to Jack & Aurelia Pasma and family with the passing away of Jack’s mom
Alice last Sunday. We give thanks for the century of life she experienced and for the greater blessedness
she now knows.
**We pray for the Mulder and Markvoort families among us in the passing of Anne Mulder of Exeter to
cancer this past Tuesday at the age of 56. Anne's husband Bert is a brother to Sylvia Markvoort, Ted
Mulder and John Mulder. We pray for God's comfort and strength for the entire family during this season
of loss.
**Rev. Aren Geisterfer, Maranatha's pastor from 1969-1974, passed away this week in Ottawa at the
Rideau and Perley Veteran's Health Centre at the age of 84. We pray for God's peace and healing for
family and friends who gather to remember his life.
**Janet Bentum remains at home and regaining strength. As she and the family await news from
pathology reports, we pray for continued healing and peace of mind and heart.
**Symen DeBoer is back at home and regaining strength. We are thankful and pray for continued healing
**Murray Dyk is feeling better and sleeping better since receiving an oxygen system after his last
specialist appointment. We pray for peace of mind and heart, and for wisdom for doctors as decisions are
made about possible surgery for his heart.
**We give thanks for several engaged couples in or from the congregation: Alie Janssen and Symen
DeBoer, Marcus Mulder and Justine Ruddle, Arjen Bokdam and Megan Van Dorp (of Rochester, NY),
Alyssa Kiers and Aaron Dyck; Stephanie Linker and Craig DeBoer. (There may be others!) May God
bless them all in their journey toward marriage in Him!
**Due to their health, Mrs. Jacoba Batterink, Mr. Andy Berghuis, Mrs. Anna DeJager, Mr. & Mrs. Hank &
Jean Meyer, Mrs. Tina Schut, Mr. & Mrs. Klaas & Liz Slik and Mr. Albert Wesselink are unable to join us
