the 1st ANNUAL KIDS MARIGOLD MARATHON

ABOUT THE RACES: The Marigold kid’s marathon will be part of the Marigold 10K race. The race is held as part of the annual
Winterville Marigold Festival in Pittard Park. (marigoldfestival.org).
KIDS MARATHON: The Marigold Kids Marathon running/walking program is designed for children kindergarten through 9th grade.
Children will run the distance of a full marathon (26.2 miles) over the course of 12 or 8 weeks. Kids will run a total of 25.2 miles in 1/4 mile,
1/2 mile, 3/4 mile or 1 mile increments between Monday, February 16th and Friday, May 15th to qualify for the kid’s marathon race day
participation. There are NO official winners and the last mile will not be timed. Visit www.athensrr.org or

AWARDS: There will be no timing or awards for the 1.0 mile marathon run. All participants in the kid’s marathon will receive a medal after
crossing the finish line.
REGISTRATION: Register by mail or online at active.com. Mail form (one per runner) with checks payable to Athens Road Runners to
Marigold Kids Marathon, Classic Race Services 1860 Barnett Shoals Road, Suite 103-498, Athens, GA 30605.

RACE-DAY REGISTRATION AND SIGN-IN: Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up begins at 6:30 a.m. under the picnic pavilion
of Pittard Park in Winterville, GA, just two blocks off Main Street. Kids are encouraged to bring their completed and signed running logs.
