With fantastic facilities, exciting investment plans, top class coaching, and a vibrant social scene
there has never been a better time to be a member of Marlow Tennis Club.
Marlow Tennis Club membership offers outstanding value
Senior and off-peak memberships remain £80, under 10 year olds remain £35, family
memberships remain £300, while memberships for 10-25 year olds are reduced to £70. Small
increases are applied to full adult memberships (£130) and to couples memberships. Please
continue to GIFT AID to Marlow Sport Club to help your money go further.
Please complete the 2015-16 membership and gift aid forms and return with a cheque
addressed to 'Marlow Sports Club/MTC Development a/c' to: George Coutts, MTC Membership
Secretary, Christmas Cottage, 81 Wycombe Road, Marlow, SL7 3HZ.
We'll shortly install a post-box outside the clubhouse so you can leave it there for George too. Please
include email/phone contact details for all family members so they can keep in touch with Club news
via our TennisBalls newsletter. Write your surname on the reverse of the cheque. Eligible members
must renew by 14th April to enter the Wimbledon Ticket Draw. Presently we're unable to accept
electronic payments but once our new membership management system has been fully tested we'll
be making this option available too.
Exciting tennis investment plans
Proposals to resurface Court 4, build Court 5, and lay footings for a dome to accommodate our
growing membership will be submitted to the Marlow Sports Club Trustees March meeting. We've
also requested that space be allocated to enable further club expansion. With over 320 members
Marlow Tennis Club is already the equivalent size of between the average 6 and 7 court LTA
registered clubs. New courts will allow us to accommodate more activities, run more events,
organise more coaching and field more teams. You can read a copy of our proposal in the
Clubhouse. Given the long history our club has of supporting MSC and other sections we look
forward to receiving approval to proceed. We're also working with the MSC Trustees on new
Clubhouse plans. We've made the case to locate the Clubhouse south of the cricket nets,
equidistant to tennis and hockey facilities, out of sight of neighbours and to make bathrooms
easier to access.
Top class coaching, inspiring more adult and junior tennis players
We’re delighted to have awarded Paul and Tennis Angels a new two year coaching contract. Over
one hundred adults or juniors now benefit from coaching and Paul's programme will shortly be
expanded with a new adult course. As testimony to the quality of our coaching and plans we're
also delighted to announce that Sports England has awarded us a grant to enable twenty 17-25
year olds to take up tennis. We'll also be running regular organised Tuesday junior tennis sessions
to help juniors get more match-play and boost their skills and rankings.

Our club is fortunate in having a membership that pulls together to run a very full programme
of events. This was announced in January and a link to that programme is included here. Up and
coming events include:
• Saturday 28th March - 10am - Spring Clean Saturday. Come and help spruce up your
club. Bring gardening gloves or cleaning materials. Our aim is to remove more overgrown
bushes and trees on the perimeter and spruce up the clubhouse. Coffee and biscuits on
us!
• Sunday 29th March - 2pm - Invite a Friend to Tennis Day. Our start of season opener
will feature mini tennis at 2pm-3pm for under 10 year olds and parents and a round robin
tournament for over tens and adults from 3-4.30pm.
• Sunday 26th April - Entries open for the annual club tournament. Entries close 15th May.
• Wednesday 13th May - 7pm - Round the World Cheese and Wine/Wimbledon Draw.
Qualifying members must attend, or nominate another member to attend, to secure an
opportunity to win tickets.

Your Club is managed by volunteers and time/support from members with organising and property
skills is urgently requested. Volunteers are needed to help with the Summer Ball and join multisports steering groups to help shape Marlow Sports Club Phase 3 development plans due to be
submitted to Sports England in June. Let me know if you can spare time to support our Club.
