Brother Retreatant,
The Spring Retreat of Matt Talbot Retreat Group 107 will be held on the weekend of April 24-26,
2015 at the Malvern Retreat House in Malvern, PA. The retreat will begin with dinner on Friday
evening at 6:00pm, and END BEFORE LUNCH on Sunday at noon. To request a room, please send
a separate reservation form and separate check for each retreatant attending. You MUST be
pre-registered in order to attend. (NOTE: No cancellations accepted or refunds issued. If you
cannot make the retreat, it is up to you to find a suitable replacement.)
Malvern has made available about 140 single rooms. All retreatants will be charged $185 to register.
This facility has an elevator, if you are physically impaired and need a special room
assignment; mark the registration form next to your name. This is a large facility and there will
be other group(s) there which may not be recovery related and may include females. We were told by
management that we will share the dining room and grounds with other groups but our meeting rooms
will be separated in our own building and floor. The bedrooms are not air conditioned.
Please, let everyone enjoy their retreat and their time leading up to it. Do not harass officers or
steering committee members with questions regarding room assignments, refunds, etc. If you are
really interested, be responsible and attend the business meeting at the end of the retreat. We will
attempt to answer all questions at that time.
The cost of this retreat DOES NOT INCLUDE SUNDAY LUNCH. You can stay for lunch at an
additional cost of $12 per person included with the registration fee or paid at the door Friday.
Because the primary purpose of the weekend is to further our spiritual recovery from the disease
of alcoholism, and in compliance with Group 107’s by-laws, it is necessary to restate the following
Rules of Behavior (ROB) in effect for this and all Matt 107 retreats:
1) Absolutely NO physical or verbal sexual harassment will be tolerated.
2) Retreatants must respect each others privacy and spiritual goals.
3) No card playing, gambling, playing loud music will be permitted. (Musical
Instruments can be played in a designated area during reasonable hours).
4) Cell phones (calls and text) are to be used only outside building or in bedrooms.
5) Any other disruptive behavior that diminishes another retreatant’s
ability to pursue his journey of spiritual recovery and growth is hereby
included and defined as a violation of the “ROB”.
Any violations of the ROB will result in the offending person’s dismissal from the retreat without any
refunds issued. If you are bringing a “first time” retreatant to the retreat, it is your responsibility to
make him aware of the ROB. If you do not accept that Group 107’s primary purpose is to provide a
safe sanctuary, favorable to the search and development of spiritual growth, please give some serious
thought of attending another type of retreat.
