Section A, Page 15 - Printing Baltimore Bulletin
of Education,
On December 20th, Miss Marguerite O'Hara, Secretary, Board
of School Commissioners, wrote to the Board as follows:
"On December 19, 1951* your Honorable Board
opened bids for 'New Library Workroom in
School #407', Contract 1-117-51, for which
tabulation of bids is attached.
It is recommended that award be made to the
low bidder, Federal Contractors, Inc., @
$1,7*0.00."
ON MOTION duly made and seconded, the Board adopted the
above recommendation and awarded the contract to the low bidder,
The- loveat bid on this item was that of Maurice
Leeser, 0 $19.75 par page. The Company made an
error in computing their bid in that they did
not figure on increased quantities for certain
issues, as outlined in the specifications, They
state that this would result in an unreasonable
loss to their company and they have, therefore,
submitted the attached letter in which they indicate their decision to forfeit their certified
check, in the amount of $100,00. This arrangement la satisfactory to the Department of
Federal Contractors, Inc., at $1,740.00.
