Course Information
2015 marks the 16th anniversary of The Children’s
Hospital of Philadelphia Annual Advanced
Practice Nurse Conference. The conference
course will explore timely professional topics
and state of the art clinical care of children and
adolescents with complex medical and behavior
issues. Opportunities for professional networking
will augment the didactic component of the
sessions. The conference is targeted to advanced
practice nurses in primary care and acute/chronic
specialties. Nursing and pharmacology CEUs will
be provided by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).
Keynote Speaker
Tine Hansen-Turton, M.G.A., J.D., is the leader
of several national movements aimed at promoting
the role of advanced practice nurses in healthcare
today. She is the CEO of the National Nursing
Centers Consortium, a non-profit organization
supporting the growth and development of over
250 nurse-managed health centers, and serving
more than 3.5 million across the country in
urban and rural locations. She holds multiple
leadership positions including Executive Director
of Convenient Care Association, the trade group
for 2,000 retail clinics serving more than 30
million, and Chief Strategy Officer for Public
Health Management Corporation, where she
oversees several public health initiatives. Working
both locally and globally, she is a celebrated
renowned speaker, publisher, executive, advocate
and award recipient. Hansen-Turton is described
as an effective change agent, systems-thinker, and
effective health policy advocate. We are fortunate
to welcome her as our keynote speaker in 2015!

The Union League is just 20 minutes from the
Philadelphia International Airport and within
walking distance of exclusive shopping, world-class
restaurants, art museums and historical sites.
The Union League of Philadelphia is one of the
nation’s most historic private clubs. The league was
founded in 1862 as a patriotic society to support
policies of President Abraham Lincoln during the
Civil War. It has hosted U.S. presidents, heads
of state, industrialists, entertainers and visiting
dignitaries from around the globe. It has evolved
over time to become one of the most respected
institutions in the country, overwhelmingly
rich in history and tradition. The classic French
renaissance-styled League House, which occupies
an entire city block in the center of Philadelphia’s
commerce and cultural district, is listed in the
National Register of Historic Places.
Dress Code at the Union League
Dress Code at The Union League is business casual,
which is defined as a collared shirt and slacks for men and
