Comprehensive Pediatric Regional Anesthesia Workshop Wednesday, April 8 – Friday, April 10, 2015 The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Sponsored by the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine www.chop.edu/cme Course Information Course Overview This comprehensive workshop is designed to enable participants to learn and understand the anatomic basics (gross and ultrasound guided) of regional anesthesia and its application in children. The workshop will include didactic sessions, cadaver dissection, observing the placement of peripheral nerve blocks in the operating room, practice of ultrasound in live models and children, discussion and follow-up of clinical cases. General Information The workshop will be held at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Registration is limited to six participants per session and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fee is $485 and includes program materials, meal vouchers for lunch and parking. All participants are required to sign an Observership Agreement form prior to the workshop. Registration Preregistration is required. The deadline for registration is Friday, March 20, 2015. Course Objectives Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: • Discuss the gross and ultrasound anatomy of commonly used peripheral nerve blocks • Apply the different techniques (including guided ultrasound used to perform peripheral nerve blocks) • Apply the follow-up needed for patients undergoing peripheral nerve blocks and develop familiarity with the steps needed to set up a peripheral nerve block service Hotel Information Workshop attendees are encouraged to make their hotel reservations early by calling one of the hotels listed below.
