Course Information
Course Overview
This comprehensive workshop is designed to
enable participants to learn and understand the
anatomic basics (gross and ultrasound guided) of
regional anesthesia and its application in children.
The workshop will include didactic sessions,
cadaver dissection, observing the placement of
peripheral nerve blocks in the operating room,
practice of ultrasound in live models and children,
discussion and follow-up of clinical cases.
General Information
The workshop will be held at The Children’s
Hospital of Philadelphia. Registration is
limited to six participants per session and
is on a first-come, first-served basis. The
registration fee is $485 and includes program
materials, meal vouchers for lunch and parking. All
participants are required to sign an Observership
Agreement form prior to the workshop.
Registration
Preregistration is required. The deadline for
registration is Friday, March 20, 2015. Those
wishing to attend may register by mail, fax or

CME website, www.chop.edu/cme. Instructions
for mailing or faxing registrations are on the
registration form included in this brochure. If you
have not received a confirmation letter within 15
days of sending your registration, please contact
the Continuing Medical Education Department

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants
should be able to:
• Discuss the gross and ultrasound anatomy of
commonly used peripheral nerve blocks
• Apply the different techniques (including
guided ultrasound used to perform peripheral
nerve blocks)
• Apply the follow-up needed for patients
undergoing peripheral nerve blocks and develop
familiarity with the steps needed to set up a
peripheral nerve block service

the credit commensurate with the extent of their

Cancellation and Refund Policy
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia reserves
the right to cancel or postpone any course due
to any unforeseen circumstances. In the event of
cancellation or postponement, the Hospital will
refund registration fees, less a $40 service fee, but
is not responsible for any related costs, charges or
expenses to participants, including cancellation
charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies. In
order to process refunds, cancellations must be
received in writing by Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
No refunds will be issued thereafter.
