Interior Design Assistant/Project Manager - Houston TX SK Interiors is a Commercial Design Firm located in Downtown Houston . We specialize in Retail, Healthcare and Hospitality Projects and pride ourselves on our creativity, our relationships and execution. We are currently seeking a self-motivated, highly organized individual to join our team. We have an immediate opening for a full time Interior Design Assistant/Project Manager. In this detail-oriented and creative role, you will provide all necessary support to the Interior Designer, or team of Designers, by assisting with designs and providing project management and administrative support. The ideal Candidate has the following qualities: • Ability to employ creative and innovative thought process. • Manipulate basic design elements such as proportion, color, light, texture and scale. • Extremely organized and able to multi-task and prioritize. Exceptional time management skills. • Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and resolving problems utilizing sound judgment and reasoning skills. • Excellent in communication and administrative skills. • Assertive and motivated to generate results. • Ability to be flexible and adaptable. Additionally, you will perform the following duties: • Production of construction documents including: design plans, elevations, sections, details, reflected ceiling plan, custom millwork design, finish plans specifications and schedules, floorcovering plans (tile designs), furniture floor plans, FF+E Specifications . • Research furniture, fixtures, window treatments, art and accessories. • Generate FF+E design and excel spreadsheets based on established project criteria and budget. Production of detailed ordering documents (sheet/work order for each item). sk interiors, inc. 111 Travis Houston, TX 77002 TEL 713-595-2196 FAX 713-595-2199 www.SKInteriorsinc.com • Collaborate with architects, lighting designers, AV contractors, developers, general contractors and their sub-contractors, vendors and fabricators. • Obtaining quotes, pricing, and estimates for the purchasing and expediting of all deliverables related to projects. Submit damage claims for processing or returns. • Manage calendars and on-site installation schedules. • Interface with clients, vendors and contractors with emphasis on quality. • Ability to effectively lead a small group of associate designers. Experience and Qualifications: • 7 years of relevant experience. • A degree holder interior design/interior architecture • Proficient in CAD, Photoshop/Illustrator, Sketch Up, Word, Excel • Fully competent in all aspects of the design process. • Demonstrate general knowledge and understanding of finishes and interior architectural products, detailing and construction techniques. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Strong background in FF+E. • Ability to manage concurrent projects (up to 7 at one time). • Ability to maintain a balanced workflow and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
