In an effort to “Go Green”, APhA has given all student pharmacists access to online enrollment. During the Spring Drive students will able to go through the online renewal and registration process on their Laptops and tablets, so encourage your students to bring them along! Go to www.pharmacist.com Click on the top right corner of the page After login, go to ‘Your Account’ The option to renew your membership will be listed under your profile It’s that easy! If Chapter Advisors or Membership Vice-Presidents have any questions about the online join process please contact LaToya Wilson at [email protected]. Individual student pharmacists should contact our Member Services team at [email protected] or via phone at 800-237-2742 x2. New Member Online Join Process 1. Visit www.pharmacist.com to begin the online join process. Final year student pharmacists (2016 graduates) have the option to choose either the single year or dual year membership when joining. If students have any issues with the online join process they should call (800) 237-2742 x2. The steps of the online join process for successful submission of your membership are as follows…. *Please let students know who are joining that their membership fees include: APhA National Dues: $45.00 for single year, and $105.00 for FINAL YEAR students during the Spring Drive who choose the DUAL Membership option only using coupon code DDS15. If student pharmacists do not use the coupon code, they will be billed the full amount of $115. We will not issue refunds, so please assist us by reminding your 2016 grads to use the coupon code. Chapter Dues: If APhA is collecting your Chapter Dues, they will be included in the total amount due in addition to National Dues. State Dues: If your school and state has agreed to have APhA collect your State Association Dues, they will also be included in the total amount due in addition to National and Chapter Dues. 2|Page Step 1: Visit the APhA website www.pharmacist.com , place your cursor on “Get Involved”. Select the “Join APhA” option. 3|Page Step 2: Complete the required information to continue. Step 3: Please choose an option and select “Next” to continue. 4|Page Step 4: Complete your contact information and select “Next” to continue. Step 5: Select your membership option and “Join” 5|Page Step 5: A summary of your membership will be given to ensure your information was entered correctly. Step 6: Choose your “Academy”. Student are automatically enrolled in APhA-ASP (Academy of Student Pharmacists). 6|Page Step 7 The option to donate to the “APhA Foundation” will be given, make your selection click “Next” to continue. 7|Page Step 8: “Review and Finalize your information”, to ensure that all of your information is correct. Select the “Pay Now” to checkout. Step 9: Finally enter your “Payment Information” and “Complete Order” to activate your new APhA membership. 8|Page 2. PAC (Political Action Committee) donations are accepted when submitting membership online membership dues; NEW MEMBERS WILL NOT BE GIVEN THE OPTION TO MAKE THIS DONATION, this option will only be available to renewing members. 3. Your Chapter Advisor and Chapter Administrator have been given online access to all of your chapter rosters and reports. (Please contact your Chapter Advisor/ Chapter Administrator for roster and report requests) 4. We can process your chapter’s student memberships, if the Chapter Advisor collects the student’s information in a file layout that is requested from APhA by the Chapter Advisor, and is to be submitted back to APhA with ONE PAYMENT (either check or credit card). It is important that the information is filled out completely using only the template provided. We cannot process your payment unless every student has an email address, member ID, and a graduation date listed. 9|Page Submitting Student Membership Enrollment Forms Please Do Not offer paper enrollment forms unless a student encounters a problem with Online Enrollment. Below are the instructions to appropriately submit your student enrollment forms to APhA. 1. Completely fill out the appropriate Student membership Enrollment Form. (Only students graduating in 2016 have the option to join as Dual Year Members.) The information that is “REQUIRED” for successful submission of these forms is listed below: First and Last Name (printed clearly) REQUIRED Graduation year (Forms without Grad Years will NOT be processed) REQUIRED Email Address ( Forms must include School and/or Personal Email Address) REQUIRED Member ID Preferred Mailing Address Phone Number 2. Count and confirm that the amount of the check balances with the amount of Student Membership Enrollment Forms. (Receiving 50 enrollment forms with a check for 51 students can result in delay of processing for all students involved.) 3. PAC donations are accepted when submitting membership dues but, the PAC donations cannot be combined with the funds submitted for national, chapter or state dues. If you have received a PAC donation from a student, this payment must be sent in a check or money order separate from the check written for the membership dues along with the students’ name (and ID # if available) that made the donation. 4. Please retain a copy of the forms for your records along with the copy of the check the forms were submitted with. 5. Fill out your Transmittal Report! There should be one Transmittal Report for all Members. This allows APhA to quickly identify any discrepancies and also gives us a contact person should there be any problems concerning your submission. 6. After you have double checked all the above information, send the completed Student Membership Enrollment Forms, the completed Transmittal Report and the check/checks to the APhA address listed below. DO NOT submit your forms to any other address or department other than the one listed below. Submitting enrollment forms to any address other than the one listed below may result in delay of processing. All APhA-ASP members can purchase liability insurance at discounted rates. One of the most important APhA-ASP membership benefits for 2016 graduates is free professional liability insurance. APhA will provide $1 million/$3 million dollar coverage at no cost to all 2016 graduates who sign up for membership during the prior year spring membership drive for their last year of pharmacy school and do not currently hold a license to practice pharmacy. For example, students graduating in 2016 must sign up during Spring 2015 drive and be members through October 31, 2016. Coverage is from May 1- May 1. **Each Chapter was given the option to enroll their students in this program in February 2015. The NAPLEX Review Book will begin shipping Fall 2015. To receive your copy, you will be required to go online and order the book. Instructions and unique codes will be sent to active students via e‐ mail when the book and PharmacyLibrary access becomes available.
