Company Update
At the National Patient Safety Foundation’s annual patient safety congress this week, Standard Register
Healthcare named North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System the winner of the 2015 John Q.
Sherman Award for Excellence in Patient Engagement. The award, named for Standard Register’s
founder, reinforces the company’s leadership role in important healthcare trends.
Information Week honored Diana Tullio, chief information officer, with its first ever IT Hero Award. The
award celebrates leadership and service within the technology community. In addition to her
responsibilities Standard Register’s technology infrastructure systems and services, Diana is active in the
Dayton community, including helping to nurture a tech association and encouraging support for women in
technology.
At an employee Town Hall meeting last week, sales leaders from across the company provided updates
on new and extended business signed. Although there have been questions concerning future ownership
of the company, the value provided to customers and strong, long-standing relationships are helping the
company to maintain its business as usual.
Chapter 11 Update
The meeting of creditors (341 Hearing) took place on April 21 at the office of the U.S. Trustee. The
meeting of creditors is not a court hearing. The purpose of the meeting was to give the Trustee and other
creditors in attendance an opportunity to ask questions. Kevin Carmody, Standard Register’s chief
restructuring officer, was the company’s representative at the meeting and responded to general business
questions about Standard Register.
Dates relevant to the sale of the company have been set by the Bankruptcy Court. Bids must be
submitted to the Court by June 11. If needed, an auction will be held on June 15. The sale hearing to
approve the sale will be held on June 17. The transaction is expected to close no later than 60 days after
the issuance of the sales order. Standard Register has held discussions and provided information to a
number of interested parties who may be potential bidders.
