Savvy mediators know how, when, and why parties in
disputes can benefit from the elements of critical thinking
in discussing their issues and framing their concerns.
Using appropriate and effective neutral standards in
solution development can improve the sustainability and
acceptance of final outcomes. This training and practice
will help mediators recognize the importance of these

Who Can Take This Training?: This training
is available to mediators who have completed basic level
training, or anyone interested in the developing advanced
skills in mediation. While you do not need to have had a
basic mediator training prior to taking this class, if you are
interested in offering mediation services, we recommend
that you register for one within 6 months of taking this
Advanced Mediation Training to maximize utility.

$250.00.

Current WCRC Volunteers: As a special thank
you to our corps of volunteers, those individuals who are
current volunteers of the WCRC will be able to register for
the training at a reduced rate of $150.00.
Continuing Ed Credits: The WCRC has
submitted this program to the Board of Bar Examiners for
Continuing Legal Education credit. This training will
qualify for other continuing education programs. Please
contact your licensing board for more information about
having this program approved for credits.

Michael D. Rust, J.D.

Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center, Inc.
Michael D. Rust is an experienced mediator and trainer
of mediators. As a former litigation attorney, he has
experienced the full spectrum of conflict resolution
methods and has devoted his profession to mediation.
A frequent speaker and trainer, Michael has trained
hundreds of mediators and spoken in front of thousands
on topics ranging from hostage negotiation to leadership
skills. He has received national and international
recognition for his work in mediation. Michael regularly
teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
He currently serves as the President of the Wisconsin
Association of Mediators and Chair of the Dispute
Resolution Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel your
registration and do so at least two weeks prior to
the start of the training, you will only be charged
an administrative fee of $50. If you are a
confirmed registrant and cancel less than two
weeks prior to the start of the training, you are
responsible for the entire fee.

Moira J. Kelly, “The Dispute Doctor”™, is President of
Kelly Consulting LLC, a firm that concentrates in
mediation and consulting on dispute resolution, labor
relations, and organizational effectiveness issues. She
has mediated hundreds of cases concerning workplace
issues, discrimination, labor contract interpretation,
medical malpractice, wrongful death, special education
and civil court subjects. For over 15 years, Moira has
trained others in advanced mediation skills, negotiation
techniques, and dispute resolution processes. She is a
published author of articles and books on a variety of
dispute resolution topics.
