Tuition Refund Policy - University of Missouri

School of Medicine Tuition Refund Policy
The School of Medicine follows the University of Missouri’s policies regarding tuition refunds.
Our academic calendar is composed of several blocks, or sessions, of enrollment within a term.
Therefore, medical students should use the part of term refund schedule posted on the Office
of Cashiers web site.
Refund amounts are based on the percentage of class length elapsed before dropping or
withdrawing as follows:




up to and including 8% of class/session length elapsed - last day of 100% refund
up to and including 30% of class/session length elapsed - last day of 50% refund
up to and including 50% of class/session length elapsed - last day of 25% refund
more than 50% of class/session length elapsed - no refund
The refund percentages apply to amounts billed for tuition, non-resident tuition, and the
information technology fee. The student activity fee may adjust depending on the number of
credit hours dropped. The recreation facility fee is not refunded once the semester begins. The
prepaid health fee is not adjusted as of two weeks before the semester begins. An explanation
of fees is available at this site.
Students may use this spreadsheet for part of term classes greater than 13 days in length to
calculate their refund. Enter the class start and end dates per what is shown in your myZou
"My Class Schedule" and the spreadsheet will calculate the refund schedule.
If a student is considering a leave of absence or withdrawal, they should first contact the
Financial Aid Coordinator to discuss the financial implications.
