This course is designed for pulmonologists,
chest surgeons, gastroenterologists and all
other health care professionals interested in
mediastinal evaluation.
The objective of this course is to review
pertinent principles of endoscopic ultrasound
and its application in the aerodigestive tract
with a particular focus on staging of lung
cancer.
At the conclusion of the course, participants
will have a solid understanding of the basic
principles of ultrasound as they apply to the
esophagus and tracheobronchial tree. All
procedural indications and cancer staging
principles will be reviewed. Performance of
endobronchial ultrasound with the radial
probe and the dedicated endobronchial
ultrasound scope for needle aspiration will be
extensively practiced.
